A scrimshaw cow horn naively engraved with The Royal Coat of Arms flanked by vases of flowers above a band of redcoats below a bare breasted female figure on a map of the Cherokee 'Middle Towns', l. 31.5 cm *This horn relates to the Anglo-Cherokee war of 1758-61. Amongst the settlements depicted are (as spelt on the horn) Whatoga, Cowee, Burning Town and Tuckoritchie.
