Lot 967

A Georgian mahogany (possibly Irish) twin drop flap dining table, with moulded edge and frieze drawer raised on cabriole legs terminating in hoof feet. Height 73 cm, width 92 cm, length flaps up 99 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The table is generally in very good condition. The top is a uniform colour and the leaves are not warped. The moulded edge is in good condition all round. The frieze drawer is oak lined. The brass handle appears to be original. All legs are in good condition with no significant faults. The table is good quality. We can see no evidence of any woodworm.

A pair of ruby glass table lustres with painted floral and gilded decoration, the drops of clear cut form 17 cm diameter x 35 cm high together with a circular glass dome on ebonised socle stand together with another matching socle stand 48 cm high x 23.6 cm diameter CONDITION REPORTS Table lustres - whilst basically sound, there are some areas of chipping to the rim, some pre-gilding, some post- gilding. See images for detail. One of drops particularly damaged to the base with loss. Several with small chips - visible upon close inspection. Several with chips to the ends. The dome with some slight chipping to the bottom edge. The ebonised socles with wear and tear conducive with age and use and some sun-bleaching to the fabric surface.

An early 20th Century cameo carved emu egg centrepiece decorated with kangaroo and exotic bird in a landscape, the base decorated with figure of a horse beneath an arbour 40 cm high x 29 cm wide together with another cameo carved emu egg table centre decorated with kookaburra and peacock in a landscape on a stand depicting a figure with boomerang and emu 27 cm high x 17.5 cm wide and another similar piece decorated with an emu and cockatoo in a landscape inscribed "Australia" on a pedestal base decorated with kangaroo and tree 30 cm high x 18 cm wide CONDITION REPORTS All three figures appear to be in need of a good clean. Horse figure coppering appears to be worn, certainly darker in some areas and there is some sign of oxidisation to the spelter. The egg itself appears to be in good though dirty condition, the same can be said for the whole piece. Piece with kangaroo surmount - same condition as above - see images. Egg with emu surmount with some minor flaws to the white area of the egg (possibly from birth!?). Otherwise condition same as above - see images for further detail

A modern Indian painted hardwood dining table, the rectangular lozenge painted cream/grey top over a carved frieze on turned supports 233 cm x 80 cm x 76 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Sizes are correct. Top has signs of splitting to the panels. Painted effect is worn and scratched variously throughout as well as flaking. There is a large chunk missing from the moulding of one edge and an area of concave wear to the moulding on another edge. Appears to have been kept in a damp environment. Signs of rusting to the iron work. Some cracking on the legs. Heavy wear and tear to the paintwork - assumed later. The actual table itself has wear and tear conducive with age, use and style and manufacture. See images for further detail.
