A Regimental silver table cigar cutter, The 44th Merwara Infantry, by the Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Company, London 1910, rectangular form, sprung cover with three cutters, engraved with the Regimental badge and inscribed 'Presented to The Officers 44th Merwara Infantry by Major F. W. Thomas 1913', on a tapering rectangular foot, length 11cm, approx. weight 8.6oz. In 1914 the Regiment was stationed at Ajmer (Rajasthan). In 1915 it was deployed to Mesopotamia. After the war the Regiment returned to Ajmer and in 1921 it was disbanded. In 1914 Major Thomas was transferred to the 9th Bhopal Infantry and on the 13 June 1916 he was wounded at the Battle of the Wadi and died on the 26 June. He is buried in the CWGC cemetery at Amara Irag.
An early Victorian regimental silver Fiddle and Thread pattern table fork, 1st Madras European Regiment, (East India Company's Regiment), by William Eaton, London 1839, the terminal with the regimental badge, length 19.8cm, approx. weight 2.8oz. The regiment became the 1st Madras Fusiliers in 1858, and when it transferred to the British Army in 1862, it became the 102nd Regiment (Royal Madras Fusiliers). In 1882 it amalgamated with the 103rd Royal Bombay Fusiliers to form The Royal Dublin Fusiliers.
Two Victorian and Edwardian silver Fiddle and Thread pattern table forks, The 74th Punjabis, by J and A Savory, London 1840, and Robert Stebbings, London 1903, the terminals engraved with the regimental badge, approx. weight 5.5oz. (2) In 1903 the 14th Madras Infantry was re-designated the 74th Punjabis. During World War I they served in Hong Kong, India and Egypt. The Regiment was disbanded in 1939.

Peppin, London 1819, two by William Eaton, London 1830, the terminals engraved with the badge of the 86th (Royal County Down) Regiment of Foot and the 83rd Regiment of Foot, approx. weight 11oz. (4) The 86th Regiment was deployed to Madras in 1818. The Regiment returned in 1819. The 83rd Regiment took part in the Peninsular Campaign and Waterloo. in 1834 they were deployed to Canada. The two regiments amalgamated in 1881 to form the 2nd Battalion, The Royal Irish Rifles.

A George III Irish Regimental silver Fiddle pattern table fork, Kilkenny Militia, by Samuel Neville, Dublin 1808, the reverse of the terminal with the Regimental badge, length 20.2cm, approx. weight 2.4oz. Raised in 1793 in Kilkenny and often referred to as the City of Kilkenny Militia. In 1855, the Regiment was re-designated The Kilkenny Fusiliers Regiment. In 1881 the Regiment became the 5th Bn The Royal Irish Regiment. It disbanded in 1922.

In 1882, The Regiment was converted to an artillery unit part of 9 Brigade North Irish Division (Artillery) until 1909 when it was disbanded.
