2005 Bentley Arnage T by Mulliner Transmission: automatic Mileage: 34800Throw your car keys on any dinner party table in the land and those with any knowledge of the car market will know that those belong to The Bentley Arnage T, the fastest saloon on the planet and powered by the famous Rolls-Royce V8 but treated to what Bentley describe as 'the most thorough re-engineering of its life'. Other changes included the adoption of a 'drive-by-wire' throttle to go hand-in-glove with Bosch's Electronic Stability Program but what really gives this nearly three-ton car its immense poise is a revised suspension that features more roll stiffness than the Red Label. The car's basic structure is also stiffer which means there are no creaks and squeaks of the sort that distinguished previous generations of Bentleys. Superb. Understated in Dark Sapphire Blue with contrasting magnolia interior, this most luxurious of Bentleys combines such bearing with immense power and performance, quite breathtaking bearing in mind the size of the car. The interior is rich with leather offering more comfort than thought possible and offered by historic coachbuilders, Mulliner. The best way to buy a car of this stature is as an ex-demonstrator as it then has everything conceivable fitted and the end price doesn’t end up in seven figures. This is indeed what the first owner did from Hadley Green Garage in September 2005; the mileage at that time was 621. This Bentley Arnage T was used regularly albeit sparingly. The current vendor has been equally frugal with his outings with the milage now reading just 34,618. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a good history folder confirming the car has been well maintained within the Rolls-Royce and Bentley network, this unmarked example truly offers the presence of a stately home combined with exceptional value for money.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.
