Trier (Walter, 1890-1951). Christmas Cards, 1945-47, three printed and coloured cards, each depicting various Christmas scenes one with a bearded man riding a reindeer, another with Father Christmas, reindeers and sleigh being painted onto a large frame by a male figure (appears to be Walter Trier), a woman standing at the table washing paint brushes (possibly Helen Trier), the last showing a pencil, paint brush and fountain pen with faces each holding a bunch of flowers, two in original envelopes, two with hand written messages from Walter and Helen Trier, largest 22 x 13.8 cm, together with a signed copy of Dandy the Donkey by Walter TrierQTY: (4)NOTE:In 1943 the vendor, with his parents, stayed at the Cowper Arms, Cole Green, Hertfordshire to escape the bombing of London. Once there his family met Walter and Helen Trier whom they made friends with. Walter signed the book for the vendor and stayed in touch with his family sending cards at Christmas even after the illustrator had moved to Canada after the war.

Books by Robert Boyle - all have some discolouration to edges of pages, don't have engraved plates, 'Colours' has loose pages and a pull out diagram of light through a prism, 'Essays' has no obvious missing pages, may have been damp (pages are a bit warped but don't stick), some pages are torn to edges and a handwritten table of contents to the back, 'Natural Philosophy' has no obvious missing pages. Pasteur book does have some engraved plates but covers are loose but present. All have some condition issues particularly to the covers, internally not bad for age. Edges of pages are discoloured 'Of Colours' has loose pages, 'colours' has a pull-out diagram of a prism. No engraved plates to 'Boyle'. No obvious missing pages to 'Essays' and 'Natural Philosophy'. Essays may have been damp (pages warped but don't stick, some pages are torn) hand written label of contents to the back.
