An oak nest of tables, 1930s, by Bowman Brothers, London, in the manner of Heal's, each of plain form with horizontal bar details, the smallest table with an undertier, 58cm wide 38cm deep53.5cm high (3)Condition Report46.5 and 39.5cm wide for the smaller tables. The slotting dowels to the smallest table with some bios to the underneath. The top of the medium table with a somewhat loose joiny to the front left corner. All structurally sound. John Makepeace (b.1939), c.1972, a satinwood coffee table, with thirty-six octagonal acid-treated glass panels to the top, raised on a cruciform stand, with octagonal cut panels, 100cm wide 100cm deep 50cm high The table was commissioned by a private client for his office in Upper Grosvenor Street, London. Made in solid satinwood at the studio at Farnborough Barn, near Banbury, c.1972, it was one of a series of projects for this client and his family.Condition ReportSome supports minor splits to the base.
