Five assorted table lamps, including a brass Corinthian column two light table lamp (5)Condition reportThe condition of all the lamps seems reasonable. Dirty and needing some cleaning. The wiring may need to be replaced and tested for electrical safety. We cannot confirm if lamps operate. The bulb sockets all appear in reasonable condition and I could see no obvious damages. No shades are included with this lot. The Corinthian column has slight verdigris discolouration to base, perhaps from damp storage which will I think clean easily.
An oil on canvas, HEADING TO MARKET, by DAVID COX within a beautiful gesso frame size 60 x 50cm, visible canvas 43 x 33cm, label to verso reads 'The McEwan Gallery, Glengarden, Ballater, by David Cox RWS 1783 - 1859' 2 very slight marks which will clear with minimal restoration. Most recent sale of slightly larger paintings by same artist achieving £30,000 (Christie's LONDON)Approx 1 piecesThere are( and can only be noticed if the painting is lying flat on a table) two lines or light marks 2 cm apart and approx 8 cm long… which could be removed With light restoration in my opinionThe lines cannot be seen when the painting is hungThe two lines start from the middle of the picture And touch the sheep dogs’ rear end, and the other line Touches and finishes on the second sheep’s rear end.The marks do not show-up with any photo. The frame is missing a little gilt moulding piece on the middle LHS 4cm worth, and a small chip measuring 0.5mm on the RHS of the frame. This is a nice painting, paintings from this artist don’t come up very often on the open market, previous salesHave reached £30k at Christie’s of London, a slightlylarger sized painting.Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition
