A Regency calamander wood card table, with brass inlaid decoration, on a tapering column and concave sided platform base, 91.5 cm wide See inside front cover colour illustration Condition report Report by RB From a London client, who use to have a house in Park Lane and Grosvenor Square. Running my hand over the top, there is a very, very slight feeling of undulation to it, as I suspect, this has been professionally restored a number of years ago, prior to the client purchasing it. The cut brass inlay all feels super smooth, with no bits projecting, the baize lining is relatively recent, and there is a slight gap actually between the top and bottom flaps, indicating a slight warp, which I probably felt when I was running my hand over it, the base with the veneer slightly moving, and with quite good quality acanthus leaf decorated brass castors.
An Arts & Crafts style oak trefoil table, 39 cm wide Condition report Report by GH Top split down the middle, and also slightly loose. Occasional old woodworm holes around the machined part at the edge of the top. Various other woodworm holes around the piece. Structurally reasonably solid. Various chips, scratches and gouges commensurate with use and age. Possibly incorporates some later parts. The pyramid in the centre of the stretcher has its top chipped off. Some of the joints are parting slightly, and some of the decoration is possibly later. All the woodworm seems to be past damage rather than live. Bears a Robert Love label to underneath dated 2.6.98, and numbered 7 of Folio 107.

A Louis XVI style painted chest, of three graduated long drawers, decorated flowers and foliage, 111 cm wide, a similar dressing chest, bed end, two marble top bedside cupboards, and a side cabinet, a mirror and an armchair (8) Condition report Condition report Report by GH The total width of the headboard is 162 cm. Report by RB The chest of drawers: rubbing, wear and tear etc to the paint, front left leg (as you look at it) is missing its metal mounts on the foot, general scratches. The two bedside cupboards (not a pair): both with marble tops, one with a cane work front is badly broken, general wear, knocks and rubbing. The bed end: nothing else with this (i.e. no rails or end), general wear, knocks and rubbing. The dressing table has a three plate mirror, not currently attached, the shaped glass top is broken. Overall, quite a smart thing originally, but has been used and enjoyed over sometime, would now benefit from a clean tidy up. It has been in storage for about ten years.

A few areas of the crossbanding look to be repaired also, and with a few repairs to the feet. Overall: from a private client who use to live in Park Lane and then Grosvenor Square.
