A 19th century (in 18th century style) bow-fronted marble-topped giltwood console table in neo-Classical style, the frieze centred with a flower-head rosette and bordered by running guilloche decoration, the central cabriole-shaped leg headed with flower heads and foliate designs in relief above a scrolling acanthus leaf to the lower foot and flanked by floral swags, 79.5cm wide
A Faienceries du Longwy 'Nautile' spherical pottery vase designed by Nicolas de Waël; decorated with various tropical fish and gilding, the base marked 'N de Wael' and numbered R.169018 (approx. 19cm high)There is some glaze crazing to the main body of the vase and also to the copper-coloured foot room and darkening underneath where the foot would meet the table as expected (please see image). The neck appears to be in good condition although there is some slight gilt rubbing. It is rather dusty and dirty inside but no major chips, cracks or restoration noted.
A modern cross-framed steel based centre table having shaped figured thick oak top, approx. 114cm x 130cmThe Auctioneer states that the item is fairly new with a shaped wooden top. The cross framed steel base is in good order and the wooden top exhibits some “natural cracking” along the grain and this would benefit from a wax polish along the top but no major issues noted.
A fine modern design extending oval elm dining table by Roche Bobois, with single extra middle leaf and raised on two mitred supports with recessed 'U' shapes, the table (180cm (leaf in) x 135cm) together with the matching set of eight elm and tan leather upholstered dining chairs (most chairs with damage/scuffs/markings to the upholstery)
A very large 19th century walnut dining table with three extra leaves, chamfered top above four bulbous lappet carved tapering supports terminating in large brass castors (271cm (leaves in) x 132cm)There a few light scratches on the surface of the table. Two of the leaves are slightly darker than the main table. The is a 12-14 inch crack running along the grain and few further scratches and scuffs to the top. The legs look good.
A mid-19th century oak centre table in Italianate Renaissance style, marquetry chequer board-style top with blind fret carving and gadrooned frieze above two supports carved with male figures in headdress and surrounded by further foliate carving in high relief, each corner headed with a Bacchus-style mask, the central section with arcaded supports and turned tapering terminals tunnelling into a moulded stretcher, the sledge-style ends terminating in foliate scrolls (141cm wide x 80cm deep x 75cm high)
A nest of four early 20th century Chinese hardwood occasional tables; each with decorative carved pierced frieze (4) The Auctioneer states that the top table has a slight water mark on the top which in his opinion would polish out quite easily. One of the pierced fretworks looks like it has been re-affixed. One of the smaller fretworks on the smallest table is been broken (please see close up images). There are scratches and scuffs etc as expected and commensurate with age – mostly to the bottoms of the legs.
An early 20th century guilloche enamel and silver-mounted eleven-piece dressing table set comprising: powder bowl and cover, two hairbrushes, two clothes brushes engraved 'Telma 1st May 1925', a handheld mirror, a nail buffer, two handheld nail tools, a comb and a possibly unassociated silver-mounted (smaller) glass bowl with maker's mark for Mappin & Webb; minor nibbles to some enamel extremities etc. (the comb with broken teeth and the nail file with damage to enamel at the end) Overall the pieces appear reasonable although the nail file has damage to the enamel on the handle. One clothes brush has minor damage to the end and there is some wear to one of the hairbrushes. The powder bowl has a piece of enamel damage to the edge of the lid, the underside of the silver lid is signed Telma and bears hallmarks for Mappin & Webb underneathe the hand made locking nut and is also dated 22.1.26. The glass bowl appears to be in good, general overall condition except for minor scratching and rubbing to the underside of the foot, as expected and commensurate with age. The lip of the glass bowl is in good order and it is noted that the engraving of flowers and swags is fine in terms of quality.
Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson of Kilburn, a large oak refectory table raised on two faceted supports united by a central stretcher, the adzed top with scallops and with signature mouse climbing up one support, the table 244cm long x 90.5cm wide x 72cm high, sold together with eight oak lattice-back chairs with tan leather seats (signature mouse to each right-hand leg). Provenance: Originally bought new from the Mouseman Workshops by the present vendor's parents circa 1970sThe Auctioneer reports that there is some wear to the varnish, mostly to tops of edges of scallops; there is a foot patch of varnish away from the top; there are some water stains to the leather seats and the wood on the chairs but the chairs seem sturdy enough.
(PLEASE NOTE, ITEM MAY BE LATE 19TH CENTURY IN DATE) A George IV period early 19th Century circular mahogany drum table, the leather inset top above an arrangement of four true bow fronted drawers and the swivelling top above a turned stem and three downswept reeded legs terminating in ornately cast brass castors, 106cm wide
An early 20th century full sized cello; (unlabelled, probably German), the two-piece back of feint flamed maple and ribs to match, the table of spruce, (more recent beech neck and scroll) total lenth excluding endpin 120cm, length of back 65cm excluding endpin; together with a violoncello bow Pernambuco with silver mount and illegible stamp, together with one other bow and flight case

A large 17th century-style (20th century reproduction) three-plank oak refectory table with cleated ends above four gun-barrel-style legs united by an H-form stretcher (289cm x 91cm)It is noted that there is significant damage to the three-plank top; the planks have shrunk with age and as such there is an approx 3-5mm gap between them. The ends are cleated and there is a one foot crack in the middle of the planks at the end This has been in private family ownership for many years in a very large local manor house and is privatey consigned. As expected there are scuffs, some scratches and knocks etc commensurate with age to the legs and also the the H-form stretcher where feet have self-evidently rested upon in it. Apart from the obvious faults the Auctioneer reports that with a repolished top, in his opinion, the table would come back to life and look as it would have done when it was originally made; with minor polishing to the extremities of the legs, feet and stretcher it would be a very good looking table once again
