A 19th century Continental specimen wood and crossbanded side table, with serpentine outline with frieze drawer and raised on cabriole legs with sabot feet. Width 80 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The table top is flat and in very good condition. There are some minor surface scratches but no significant losses or undulations to the marquetry or veneers. The metal edge is all present as are all of the mounts. The table is structurally very sound. The drawer operates as it should. The lock is present but we have no key. The veneers to the drawer legs, sides and back are all in generally good condition with no significant scuffs, losses or damage. We can see no evidence of any woodworm. There do not seem to be any repairs.
A part canteen of silver Kings pattern flatware, predominantly Joseph Albert Savory and William Smily (Manager of A.B. Savory & Sons) and others, London 1855, comprising 8 tablespoons, 8 table forks, 6 dessert spoons, 5 dessert forks, butter knife, teaspoon, coffee spoon and mustard spoon (87.85 ozs) (see illustration).
A silver pin cushion/trinket pot, Hardy Brothers, Birmingham 1895, with heart shaped pin cushion top above the pierced scrolling base, and a cut glass and silver mounted dressing table jar, W.& G. Neal, London 1894, with repousse mask and scroll lid with crimped rim on a cut glass body. Trinket box length 11 cm, jar height 9 cm.
Assorted silver tableware, to include decorative serving spoon Mappin & Webb, London 1909, with shell shaped bowl, silver toasting fork, Walker & Hall 1910, silver sugar sifter and sauce ladle and silver mounted table brush, silver handled pickle fork, toasting fork and two button hooks (9).
