A SUPERB LATE 17TH CENTURY OYSTER WOOD RECTANGULAR TOP CENTRE TABLE with very good quality inlaid top with central star motif, fans and circular panels in oyster wood, other woods and ivory, the front fitted with one long drawer and supported on octagonal tapering legs with shaped uniting stretcher and supported on bun feet. 3ft 7ins wide, 2ft 6ins deep.
* Churchill (Winston S.). An historic press photograph taken on the occasion of Churchill's 69th birthday, showing Churchill sitting at the table between President Roosevelt and Marshall Stalin, November, 1943, image size approx. 30.5 x 80.5 cms, black frame, glazed. With printed label to reverse describing the occasion, "Winston Churchill celebrated the most historic birthday of a life intimately tied up with the history of the British Empire and the world, at Teheran on 08.11.43. The celebration was held in the Victorian Drawing Room of the British Legation and the guests of honour were President Roosevelt and Marshall Stalin. A birthday cake with sixty-nine small candles had pride of place on the table. (1)
