A large Chinese carved zitan wood panel with jade and turquoise, set in a hongmu wood frame and stand, Qianlong H.: 184 cm - W.: 117 cm - D.: 47 cm (incl. stand)H.: 134 cm - W.: 96 cm (the panel)Provenance: A French private collection.Accompanied by a French export certificate.The panel is part of a group of interesting, intricately carved zitan wood furniture. These exceptional works were created to the highest standards in the imperial workshops of Beijing to adorn the imperial residences. Taxidermy: A Late Victorian Cased Silver Pheasant (Lophura nycthemera), full mount cock bird with head turning slightly to the left, amongst a natural setting of ferns moss and tall grasses, set against a blue painted back board, enclosed within a three-glass oak framed table display case, 106cm by 27cm by 61cm This species of Pheasant is mainly found within forests and mountains of mainland Southeast Asia, and Eastern and Southern China, with introduced populations in Hawaii and various locations in the US mainland
