A 19TH CENTURY FRENCH OAK WINE-TASTING TABLE with circular tilt-top. 71cm high, 107cm diameterFew old nibbles around the rim, stained, with surface scratches. Signs of old woodworm on the frame and the support is slightly damaged. Various old repairs commensurate with age, a few pegs missing and the panel back with additional wood brackets to hold them together.
A FINE SCOTTISH SILVER-MOUNTED RAM'S HORN TABLE SNUFF MULL, CIRCA 1850 unmarked, set with three large citrines, the hinged silver cover chased with thistles, to the terminal a thistle-form silver mount, with a range of attached accoutrements, including a rake, spoon and spike. 32cm longUnmarked, which is quite common in Scottish items. The mounts with crisp chasing. One chain with no attachment, another with a cap mount and the remains of a rabbit or hare foot? Some cracks to the handle of the spoon (images). Small holes - drilled? - to horn body, possibly for another mount? (images) The end cover doesn't stay closed entirely flush, springs back open slightly at hinge. In generally very good condition.
