A Mouseman Thompson of Kilburn octagonal coffee table, with Mouse Trademark and quatreform base. Width 20 ins (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: This is structurally sound and of a good colour. There are no areas of damage. The piece has however clearly been used and there are a number of water and ring marks to the top of the piece and again some marks on the bottoms of the cruciform base. None of these are significant.
An Art Deco circular walnut two tier table. Diameter 24 ins. CONDITION REPORT: Height is 25 ins, diameter 23.5 ins. The piece is generally in good structural condition. There are obviously small scratches and odd marks to the top surface and two lower tiers commensurate with the age of the piece. There are however no significant problems and with a light polish and clean the table could be used in its present condition without the need for any extensive repair or restoration.
A French fruitwood farmhouse table, 19th century, with cleated ends, drawer to either end with wooden handles and frieze drawer to one side, raised on tapered legs of square section . Length 75.5 ins, width 30 ins. CONDITION REPORT: The table has a generally good colour. It is however very rustic. The top is screwed to the base with old screws which are evident at each corner and at three further places on the top of the table. There is evidence of old wood worm on the right hand side particularly in the middle plank. This continues all along the top to the area that is open between the planks. The wood is all solid in this area and the wood worm appears to be long gone. There are further traces on the top also. The drawer operates as it should and has its original lining. Both end drawers operate as they should. The wooden knob handles are later replacements. The legs are all in good condition and the castors although Victorian are probably from something else but serve to make the table a good height for sitting at. The table does rock from front to back when shaken probably by about an inch. This suggests that all of the blocks underneath need re-gluing and tightening. The height to the underside of the frieze including the castors is 22.75 ins at the ends and 23.75 ins at the long sides. The gaps in the table top would not clamp together due to the construction of the table however in our opinion are part of its appeal. The colour is generally good.
