Geraldine Girvan (British, 20th Century) Studio Table signed lower right "Girvan '97" bodycolour 72 x 102cm Provenance: Chris Beetles Ltd., 8 and 10 Ryder Street, St James's, London, SW1 Exhibited: Geraldine Girvan Exhibition, April 1999, No.14, Chris Beetles Ltd., 8 and 10 Ryder Street, St James's, London, SW1. Geraldine Girvan was trained at Edinburgh College of Art where her first tutor was Elizabeth Blackadder. Geraldine has had a biennial solo exhibition at the Chris Beetles Gallery, London, since 1989 and continues to produce bold and vibrant paintings in a tradition which is fresh and vital and an explosion of colour.
Pinckney Marcius-Simons (American, 1867-1909) Portrait of Cardinal Richelieu signed lower left "Marcius Simons" oil on canvas 68 x 77cm Provenance: Private collection, Cambridge The present painting shows Richelieu with his hand on the death warrant of the five plotters and a map of Richelieu's plans to enlarge France. Pere Joseph sits, cowled, on the far side of the table and the pair are surveyed by the ghost of Louis XIII, whilst the Dauphin sits with his back to them facing the fire.
Gwyneth Johnstone (British, b.1914) Still Life of Apples, Oranges, Onions and Wine Bottles on a Table signed lower left with monogram "GJ" oil on canvas 39 x 46cm Gwyneth Johnstone paints landscapes - golden sun on turquoise seas, rooftops, scenes of the Mediterranean and her home in Norfolk. She has been described by the art critic Terence Mullaly as "a gentle wayward poet of paint … unsullied by fashionable trends … pursuing a highly personal course". Gwyneth Johnstone studied at the Slade School of Art and then under the painter Andre Lhote at his Paris studio. She also attended life classes with Cecil Collins at the Central School of Art in the 1950s. She is the daughter of Augustus John and Norah Brownsword and lives and paints in Norfolk.

A 17th Century Yew wood Altar Table, Circa 1620. The planked top having cleated ends and measuring 46 ins x 29 ins (117 cms x 74 cms), resting on run-moulded rails with shaped spandrels above baluster turned legs with square block feet united by peripheral block stretchers, 32 ins (82 cms) high.
A Large & Impressive 15th/16th Century French Refectory Table attributed of the Languedoc Rousillon Area. The substantial jointed twin plank top resting on three trestle supports united by a long central stretchers and measuring 189 ins x 36 ins (480 cms x 92 cms) and 32½ ins (82 cms) high.

A 18th Century Oak Side Table of delicate proportions. The frieze fitted with a long shallow drawer edged in cock-beading with a mahogany banded border. Standing on square slender legs with peripheral stretchers, 28 ins (71 cms) wide, 16 ins (41 cms) deep and 26 ins (66 cms) high.
