CREWE - WITTON ALBION 1921 Crewe home programme from their first Football League season although this issue is a Reserves Cheshire League game v Witton Albion 8/10/1921. The Division 3 North League table makes interesting reading as eight of the top nine teams are no longer in the Football League, namely Stockport, Nelson, Durham City, Stalybridge Celtic, Darlington, Southport and Wrexham, the odd one out being Accrington Stanley and it is possibly debatable to say that they are members of the League today as the current Accrington Stanley is a reformed club. This 12 page programme is in generally good condition, no writing and has very slight tears. Generally good
CREWE - NELSON 1927 Crewe home programme v Nelson, 2/4/1927, Third Division North, Nelson were members of the Football League until they finished bottom in 1930-31 and were replaced by Chester. Nelson were champions of the Division in 1922-23 and were promoted to Division 2 They were relegated a year later having faced opposition including Manchester United, Leeds, Fulham, Derby, Blackpool and Sheffield Wednesday. Crewe spent most of the twenties as a mid-table Division 3 North club, never really in any danger of going up or down. The programme has a little creasing but no writing, slight ageing to covers but overall it is in generally good condition. Generally good

NEWCASTLE - PORTSMOUTH 48-9 Newcastle home programme v Portsmouth, 6/4/49, midweek game and a crucial match as the two teams were first and second in the Division 1 table.
