* NORMAN KIRKHAM RGI (SCOTTISH b. 1936), AT THE DRESSING TABLE oil on canvas, signed image size 156cm x 132cm, overall size 180cm x 155cm Framed. Note: Norman Kirkham was born in Glasgow in 1936. He attended the Glasgow School of Art from 1953-1958, where he studied under David Donaldson. He was elected an artist member of the RGI in 1987 and was a past Artist Convenor, responsible for the RGI’s Annual Exhibitions. He is also a past President of the Glasgow Art Club. Over the years, he has won many awards and travel scholarships, and held both solo and group exhibitions across the UK and internationally. His work is held by influential public and private collections including HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, The Peoples’ Palace (Glasgow), The Macfarlane Charitable Trust, Arthur Andersen and Teachers Whisky.

Handwritten label verso. Note: Brenda Lenaghan DA RSW was born is Galashiels in 1941. She went on to study at Glasgow School of Art between 1958-63. Brenda won many awards, including SSWA's Anne Redpath Award in 1975 & 1983, and the Special Award in 1980. Brenda also won the RSA's Maud Gemmell Hutchison Award in 1996. Brenda's son lives and works in Japan and she visited him every year. The art of Japan had a profound influence over her work. CONDITION The lamp appears in age-appropriate condition. A chip to one of the flowering cherry blossoms. Overall surface dust visible to the lamp. The lamp is wired but not in working condition.
