Middleton was Coleridge's protector and mentor at Christ's Hospital and later at Jesus College, Cambridge.

Victorian oil lamp, the faceted clear glass reservoir on spelter column in the form of a classical female figure on black pottery plinth base with etched cranberry glass lobed shade, 79cm high; also a similar spelter table lamp in the form of a classical female figure holding a torch, 63cm high. Electrical testing/rewiring required. (2). Condition Report. Small hole in neck and underarm but oil lamp not electrified. Shade in good condition.
Pair of Victorian opaque pink glass table lustres with polychrome and gilt floral decoration and clear cut glass drops, each 36cm high. (2). Condition Report. A pair with very slight differences, decorated by different hands. Some wear to gilt and enamel, additional blue, black and dark green pigment on one, other has rubbed off. Drops (1 lacking) have a few small edge chips but main bodies are generally in good condition, no visible chips or cracks.
19th century oak wind out table on turned baluster supports with ceramic castors together with 5 plus 1 oak chairs with black leather seats. Condition Report. Minor scratches otherwise good. Leaves match up well. Winds in and out nicely.Size of table: 146cm (57 1/2 ") with leaves, 96cm (37 1/2") without leaves, 21cm (47") wide.
Twenty two British silver table spoons, mainly George III, both top and bottom marked, mainly initialled or crested, including: an Irish old English example by Michael Keating, Dublin 1794; and A German pointed end example by Gottlieb Ephaim Wulsten, Danzig, assay master Johann Jakob Raths (1829-1833 and 1836), pricked J. F. Hein in Danzig , 1507g (48.45 oz) gross (23) J. F. Hein was a ship's chandler in Danzig during the middle of the 19th century. The maritime museum Kapiteinshuis, Nieuwe Pekela in the Netherlands has a large collection of captain's spoons, among which there are three from J. F. Hein, with maker's mark Wulsten.
