Late Victorian folding envelope table on simulated bamboo outswept legs. (B.P. 21% + VAT) Some water stains to top. Top is different colour from legs, it is our opinion that the top has not been sanded but it may be a little faded. Condition overall, wear and tear to the top commensurate with age. Flaps a little looser than they once were.

Juni 2013 vor.Provenienz: - Arndt Contemporary Art, BerlinEntang Wiharso hat sich mit seinen großformatigen Gemälden, Skulpturen und Installationen einen festen Platz in der internationalen Kunstszene erarbeitet. Der indonesische Künstler verarbeitet neben soziopolitischen Themen auch Motive aus der westlichen, der indonesischen sowie der südostasiatischen Mythologie. Die hier angebotene Arbeit sorgte bereits 2013 auf der Art Basel in Hong Kong für Aufsehen. Auf einem silbern glänzenden Tisch liegt ein monströser, mit Pfeilen gespickter Fisch. An den Stirnenden stehen zwei Figuren mit langen geflochtenen Zöpfen. Eine dieser Figuren ist goldfarben patiniert und hält die Hand in einer an einen Segensgestus erinnernden Pose. Die gegenüberliegende Person ist gänzlich silbern poliert, greift die Patinierung der anderen Person aber durch die Spiegelung des goldenen Fisches im eigenen Körper auf. In der einen Hand hält die Person einen modernen Regenschirm, in der anderen ein altertümlich anmutendes Zepter. Mit seinen Arbeiten thematisiert Wiharso die Teilung der Weltgemeinschaft durch politische, religiöse und ethnische Systeme. Der Fisch dient in dieser Arbeit als Treffpunkt, als kleinster gemeinsamer Nenner, der es ermöglicht die limitierte Kommunikation zu überwinden. Die Arbeit überzeugt nicht nur auf inhaltlicher Ebene, auch unter formal-ästhetischen Gesichtspunkten stellt "Feast Table Undeclared Perceptions" eine außerordentlich gelungene Arbeit dar, die die Aufmerksamkeit des Betrachters auf sich zieht. A late Edwardian amethyst set 9ct gold ring, the central oval mixed cut amethyst (measuring 6.5mm x 4.5mm), bezel set 9ct gold to a plain polished shank, marks for Birmingham 1910, O 1/2, weight 1.6gms Condition Report; Please note: This stone has not been tested for natural or synthetic origin. It has been inspected under a 10x lens, and contains inclusions consistent with those found in natural examples.The central stone shows some large scratches to the central table and outer facets, and some abrasion and light nibbles to the facet edges. No major fractures or losses visible.The bezel setting is in good order, no signs of splitting or thinning. There is possible signs of repair where the bezel meets the shoulders (see additional images for details). The shank does show possible signs of repair or re-sizing (see additional pictures for details). There is some thinning to the base of the shank, but no splits or misshaping. General scratching, wear and tear consistent with age and wear. Hallmarks to shank and to the bezel setting are clear.

An Art Deco silver mounted and enamelled dressing table set by Beddoes & Co, Birmingham 1935-36, comprising and hand mirror, two hairbrushes, two clothes brushes and a comb, each with yellow guilloche enamel decoration to reverse, mirror 28.3cm long, complete in a fitted black leather case, marked for 'Sorley, Glasgow', 39cm x 27xcm, together with a mid-twentieth century Indian white metal belt, 95cm longCR: Enamel is in good order. There is a small crack to the tip of the handle of one of the hairbrushes (see pictures). Enamel backs show scratching and wear around the edges, but no large fractures, chips or losses.Please note: One of the teeth on the comb has broken off.
