A Victorian burr walnut and marquetry circular table, in the manner of Robert Blake, the top inlaid a border of ribbon ties, arabesques, flowers and acanthus scrolls within a gilt brass border, on triangular tapered column and scrolling tripod base, similarly inlaid, 76.5cm diameter Condition Report: Veneer lifting in places throughout, banded border missing small pieces of veneer, gilt brass border uneven. Base banding missing pieces of veneer and scuffed in places. Other blemishes throughout, commensurate with age and use.
A fruitwood table fitted three drawers on square legs, 68cm wide Condition Report: The top is pitted and with stains and scratches, moulded border worn particuarly at the corners, drawers are stiff and do not run evenly and have later handles, apron split and with repairs, legs scuffed in places. A 19th Century oak credence table, the D-shaped fold over top on turned legs with blind fret carved decoration to the frieze, 100cm wide/Provenance: Henry George Liddell (1811-1898) and thence by descent. Henry Liddell was Dean of Christ Church Oxford and later Headmaster of Westminster School. His daughter Alice was the inspiration for Alice in Wonderland./see illustration
