The centre narrow section is a different colour to the remainder of the top. The polish to this section is also discoloured. The table top is flat and not warped. There are numerous marks and stains to the table top. The legs are in generally good condition with only minor scuffs around the claw and ball feet. The table has probably had some restoration to the top in recent years. The moulded edge is in good order as is the frieze and all frieze drawers which operate as they should. There are very minor nibbles to some of the veneers around the drawer edges but no significant issues. The centre faceted column and carved support beneath are in generally good order with minor scuffs and blemishes. There is some old cracking to the stylised tulip carving. The triform base beneath the carving has evidence of old long gone woodworm. The three carved legs appear to be in generally good condition.
A Georgian mahogany supper table, with carved top, snap action, bird cage and turned column and raised on three downswept legs terminating in pad feet. Diameter 77 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The table top is flat and not warped. It is a good colour and in generally very good condition. There has been one small edge repair to the lip of one of the plate apertures. This is a professional repair and perfectly acceptable. Looking at the underneath of the table the right hand bearer that supports the bird cage appears to have been moved at the top. There are also marks around the locking mechanism. It may be that the table top and base have not always been together although we think that this is unlikely. The legs and centre column are all in good order with no condition issues.
