A pair of walnut four drawer pedestal cabinets, by W.C. Webb Liverpool, with burr walnut veneered drawer fronts, stamped to top drawer. Height including upstand 90 cm, width 39.5 cm, depth 55.5 cm. CONDITION REPORT: These will have originally have been a dressing table. Both tops have three filled peg holes where some form of superstructure will have originally sat. The tops are also generally a little scratched and marked particularly around the extremities. All drawer fronts are in good condition. The handles are original. There are no significant splits. The backboards are original, the feet are all in good order all round, there is no evidence of any woodworm.
A 19th century brass and rosewood inlaid travelling vanity box, the hinged cover opening to reveal a fitted interior with lift out tray to reveal some of the original dressing table bottles and jars. Width 31 cm, depth 23 cm, 17 cm high. CONDITION REPORT: The box is in generally good original condition. All brasswork is present. The top is flat with no splits. It sits correctly on the base. The hinges are original and in good order. The front and sides are in good condition generally with only minor stress fractures to the veneers. There is a small veneer repair above the lock on the right-hand side above the drawer. The bottom edge of the rear panel is missing and there are small sections of veneer also missing in the same place. The interior mirror looks to be a modern replacement with modern tape surrounding. The jars all have rubbing to the silver-plated tops.
A near pair of Georgian Sheraton period satinwood marquetry urn stands, brass mounted. Tallest 69 cm, each 30 cm wide. CONDITION REPORT: The taller table top is in very good original condition. There are no splits or losses. The applied moulded surround is scuffed and marked in places and one section has had a glued repair. Another section looks to have been replaced and overpainted. The slide operates as it should. The frieze all round is in generally good order with only minor blemishes. All legs are free from repairs or restoration as are the stretchers. The brass ball feet appear to be original. There are some minor nibbles around the leg extremities. The smaller table top is also structurally sound. The top is somewhat dirtier than its companion. There are no losses to the inlay. The moulded edge has numerous old marks and scuffs. The slide operates as it should. The frieze is in good condition all round. The legs are in good order and free from any repairs and restoration. The same comments apply to the stretcher. All brasswork to both tables is original.
A Royal Crown Derby dressing table set, in typical Imari colours comprising pair of candlesticks, ring stand, tray, lidded vessel with stand, two rectangular pin dishes (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The tray is in generally good order with no chips, no repairs and no restoration. It does have some surface scratches to the centre panel and some rubbing to the gilding. The gilding is a little dull in places also. The two rectangular dishes, the ring tree and the lidded casket are all in extremely good order with no chips, no damage, no repairs and no restoration. There is no significant rubbing to the gilding. One candlestick is in generally good condition with no chips, no damage, no repairs and no restoration. The bottom blue and gilt panels with less hatching are rubbed through the scroll pattern. The accompanying candlestick has been broken below the second knop and re-glued and the same comments apply to the discolouration on the base panels.
