19th century Boulle work card table of serpentine outline, the hinged top inlaid with figures, animals and rococo scrollwork, enclosing baize-lined playing surface and well below, the conforming inlaid frieze centred by ormolu mask mounts on cabriole legs, 83cm wide x 41cm deep x 77cm high CONDITION REPORT Has been previously restored, good overall condition- the top has had some restoration to the veneers, the interior is original and has a purple felt lining, the leather border of which is worn. Two pieces of brass work missing from front right leg
Fine early 19th century French ebony and marquetry inlaid and ormolu mounted bureau plat, shaped serpentine top with leather inset writing surface and decorated with marquetry borders depicting heraldic devices, musical and scientific instruments, with three frieze drawers, raised on cabriole legs, 142cm wide x 71cm deep x 76cm high CONDITION REPORT Rear of table appears quite faded wood very dry and cracks / small losses to veneers. Top also has some veneer losses and cracks front face is better with fine colour but some further veneer losses. Metal mounts loss to front left draw otherwise general wear.
Late 19th century German Sitzendorf porcelain table centre with floral encrusted and painted bowl, with revelling cherubs to base with flowers and pierced scrollwork, 45cm CONDITION REPORT Some chips to flowers and gilding, wear to rim of bowl. One cherub wing re-attached, one leg restored. Top leaves of sconce restored
Large 19th century Meissen porcelain figure of Count Brühl's Tailor, on a goat modelled after J. J. Kändler, with finely decorated clothes and the tools of his trade mounted allover - blue crossed swords, impressed and painted marks to the underside, 42cm high x 40cm wide. Count Heinrich Von Brühl' (1700 - 1763) was The Kingdom of Saxony's Minister of the Interior and a Director of the Meissen factory from 1733 - 1763. By tradition the Count's socially ambitious tailor asked for an invitation to dine at Court, in order to put him in his place the Count requested Kändler to make a comic figure of the tailor so he could be placed on the dining table rather than a guest at it CONDITION REPORT A piece of the goat's hanging skirt fur has been replaced, hairline crack to underside of base, top of scissors restored, one ear restored, some of the contents of the basket are restored as is the blue sash, glasses re-stuck and minor other restorations
