A William & Mary style oyster veneered side table, with crossbanded moulded edge and raised on S scroll legs united by flat stretchers and with ball feet beneath. Width 31 ins. CONDITION REPORT: Height 29.5 ins, width 30.5 ins, depth 20.5 ins. The top of the side table is generally flat with no significant losses. There is some minor lifting of the veneer in places but as the veneer is thick we do not feel that this is a significant issue. There is an old stress crack running across the centre panel from left to right but again this is an old crack which does not appear to be worsening. The moulded edge is in generally good order as is the frieze. All legs are in generally good condition with only minor surface scuffs and scratches. The low stretcher is in generally good order but has probably had some veneer repairs over the years. The bun feet are quite badly scuffed and do have some cracks but they are solid and presentable.
A Victorian farmhouse kitchen dining table, with heavy top, painted base and raised on six legs united by stretchers. Length 81 ins, width 38.5 ins. CONDITION REPORT: The table is structurally very sound. It has clearly had a lot of use however. The top is extremely thick. It has numerous scuffs, scratches, gouges and marks. The joins in the timber are open and there is a patched repair to the centre right hand side of the top. The frieze drawers operate as they should, but are very dirty inside. The table base is scuffed, knocked and marked and very worn at the end stretchers. This is however part of the appeal. The table has been in a damp environment and the top is in the process of drying out.
A Victorian child's chair and table, bearing plaque "Made from The Old Cedar Tree at Springland which was Blown Down on The Night of The Tay Bridge Disaster, December 28th 1879". CONDITION REPORT: The chair is structurally very solid. It is however quite tatty. There are numerous scuffs and scratches and the varnished finish to the chair is tired. The chair has a later plywood seat and will originally have been bergere. There are nail and screw marks visible to the left and right hand stretchers. There is also evidence of an old repair to the right hand stile and the centre splat. The base is equally tatty but also structurally sound. There are four stress marks to the centre of the top. These are old and not moving but clearly visible. The top of the piece is quite significantly scratched.
A late 19th/early 20th century Sheraton Revival bijouterie table, brass bound and marquetry, with tapered legs of square section united by a raised shaped shelf. Width 31.5 ins (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: This table is in very good condition. The top is flat and not warped. The glass is in good order as is the brass surround and marquetry. All four glass side panels are in good condition. The legs are in good order with no breaks and the piece is very sturdy. The lower shelf is also in good condition with no issues. The piece could be used or resold in its current condition without the need for any repair or restoration.
A William IV rosewood circular breakfast table, with triform base. Diameter 52 ins. CONDITION REPORT: The top is flat and not warped. It is generally in very good condition with very minor ring and watermarks in places. There is no veneer lifting that we can see. The moulded edge and frieze are also in good order. The top is a little faded but in a uniform fashion. We have the brass butterfly bolts and the locking mechanism operates as it should. The centre column is in good order. The triform base has small veneer nibbles to the corners but only one of any significance. One scroll foot is detached but we have the pieces and this would be a simple enough repair. One scroll foot has a turned roundel missing. The castors are original. The table is structurally solid.
