Countess of Kingston's Album containing twenty-five watercolour vignettes of flowers, signed A.C. Kingston and dated 1874-1879, the album made by C.J. Biccer (Binder), 4 Frederick Street, Dublin,Provenance: Together with a statement from Michael Wisehall, Member of the British Antique Dealer's Association Limited: Anna Countess of Kingston, Mitchelstown Castle, Co. Cork. Mitchelstown Castle is well documented in A Guide to Irish Country Houses by Mark Bence Jones. In an illustration showing the Drawing Room in the 1890s, the album can be seen placed on a table. Mitchelstown was one of the largest houses in Ireland. It burnt down in 1922 during the Civil War. See accompanying photograph. With signs of wear consistent with age and use.
