An Extensive 197 Piece Table Service of Silver Flatware, Mappin & Webb, London 1918, Fiddle, Thread and Shell pattern, engraved with the initial B, comprising: table forks (18), dessert forks (12) teaspoons (12), egg spoons (6), coffee spoons (12), salt spoons (4) mustard spoon, sugar tongs, fruit spoons (2), grape shears, dessert spoons (12), soup spoons (12), tablespoons (8), sauce ladles (2), soup ladle, gravy spoon, sugar sifter, nut crackers (2), fish carvers (2), silver bladed fruit knives (12), silver tined fruit forks (12), silver bladed fish knives (12), silver tined fish forks (12), cheese knives (12), table knives (18), butter knives (2), carving set (3), knife rests (4), approx 359ozt including fish/dessert cutlery, contained in a fitted mahogany four drawer canteen on a table base with frieze drawer Generally very good condition. Not every piece examined to check if marks are ALL en suite, but from the large majority that have been inspected marks are all en suite. Table knives have had blades re soldered in a less than desirable fashion, as have 2 cheese knives. Tines good. Some light sctracthes with use. Marks clear. Initial is lightly engraved. Some knives are marginally longer and as such no not sit flat in the case so cabinet will not close. Approx 11178g
A George VI Table Service of Silver Flatware, Mappin & Webb, Sheffield 1940/41, Old English pattern, engraved with the initial S, comprising eight each of table forks, dessert forks, dessert spoons, soup spoons, teaspoons, four tablespoons, eight ivory handled table and dessert knives, a three piece carving set and a set of twelve plated fish knives and forks, in a fitted oak canteen 82oz 4dwt 2562g all in. Two date letters. Would benefit from a polish as they are hazey. Good tines. Overall good. Canteen they are contained in is poor.

A Chinese Gold, Carved Ivory and Plumstone Necklace, Canton, maker's mark W.W.C., late Qing Dynasty, circa 1880, comprising twenty-three links, the six oval ivory examples carved in high relief with figures amongst pavilions, the six plumstone examples similar, divided by eleven filigree concave sided panels worked with tree squirrel, phoenix and flowers, the clasp stamped W.W.C.18, 37cm long; and A Chinese Carved Ivory Oval Brooch, Canton, late Qing Dynasty, circa 1890, as eight figures gathered around a room screen and tables, in gold metal plain mount, pin fastener, 4.7cm wide (2) Necklace, from left: Link 5 (gold) main part of design missing. Link 9 (gold) head of phoenix missing (piece not retained). Link 10 (plumstone) small section of pine tree branch missing. Link 12 (ivory) on figure beheaded (piece not retained) and some other tiny losses amongst foliage. Link 16 (gold) head of phoenix missing (piece not retained). Link 17 (plumstone) small umbrellas of pine tree branch missing/chipped. Link 23 (ivory) tiny losses amongst foliage. The maker's/retailer's mark is clear as is the 18 stamped (not tested). There is also a Chinese character mark to the clasp. The back of some of the ivory panels are slightly stained and one has two slightly stained hairline cracks. Crack across top of screen. One table with one leg cracked. Other table with parts of leg missing. One figure behead, but head retained in small bag. Top of screen with small chip. Stress crack at 6.30 and other small cracks and stains apparent. Slightly yellow throughout. Mounts unmarked. 150615
