A small Russian icon depicting the head of St. John the Baptist, probably 18th century, the head on a platter upon a table with red and yellow drapery beneath, with halo above, painted in oils and gilt on a wooden panel, Cyrillic text in black to top border, 4¼ x 3¼in. (10.8 x 8.2cm.).* Condition: Quite dirty and varnish appears dry and discoloured throughout. Some craquelure and gilt wear to yellow panel around head. Some small flakes missing from paint and scratching and old losses to paint to lower right corner of yellow panel. Small ding to surface of paint to top centre and centre right edge. No evidence of any restoration or retouching - appears to be very original.

A set of five mid-19th century Scottish silver fiddle pattern table forks, Robert Naughten, Edinburgh 1837; together with a sixth matched George III fork, Thomas Wilkes Barker, London 1814, weight 14.25 tr.oz. (6)* Condition: All have clear marks and no faults. Three have a little wear to right hand tines from use. Good overall.
