A Venetian green painted and gilt low table, raised on cabriole legs. width 98 cm. CONDITION REPORT: This table is 20th century and appears to be in original condition with no breakages or repairs. However there is a significant amount of gilding and decoration wear throughout and it appears to have been well used. There is no evidence of any later repainting.

A Victorian walnut and Florentine marquetry turnover top combined games and worktable, with backgammon, cribbage and chessboard surface. Width 65 cm, depth 40 cm, height 68.5 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The table is in generally good condition. The top is a good colour with no significant issues or veneer losses. It is not warped. The hinges are original. The gaming surfaces are in good order with no splits or fractures to the playing areas of any note. The veneers to the sides of the backgammon board have stress fractures along the joins and both the left and right hand sides. The swivel mechanism operates as it should. The frieze is in good condition all round. The frieze drawer and sliding bag are both a little stiff. The bag itself is in good order. All legs are in good condition as is the stretcher. We can see no evidence of any woodworm. The table may originally have had castors.

Lot 1271

A large circular oak cricket type table, with angled bulbous legs united by stretchers. Diameter 107 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The height form the floor to the table top is 76 cm. To the underside edge of the top this is 72.5 cm.

Lot 1073

A Regency rosewood table box, with bronze handles, sarcophagus form with interior fitted for sewing. Height 26 cm, width 40 cm, depth 30 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The casket is in extremely good order generally. There are no issues with the top. The sides are all in good condition with no issues. The feet are original and all present. The handles are original and in good order. The interior is very clean. There do not appear to be any pieces missing from the lift out tray other than one small brass spring handle. The only minor issue is that the lock mechanism is damaged. The top brass section of the lower part of the lock is damaged and the lid whilst not warped will not fully close. This would easily remedy.

Lot 982

After Auguste-Maximilien Delafontaine, a pair of patinated metal table lamps, each with stepped base and complete with shade. Height to bottom of light fitting 61 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: Both lamps are in extremely good condition with no issues. They are currently lit up in the saleroom. The shades have some minor stains but are in generally serviceable order.

Lot 1001

A late 19th century French spelter figural table lamp, flower seller, raised on onyx base with four scroll feet. Height 46 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The lamp is in generally extremely good order. There does not appear to be any damage to the figure or metalwork. There is a small chip to the top left hand corner of the onyx base and other minor nibbles but no significant problems. The piece is structurally sound. The light support is detached from the rear of the head. It requires re-gluing. This is a minor issue. The lamp is wired and does operate.

Lot 1197

A Georgian mahogany turn over top hall table, fitted with two drawers with brass drop handles and raised on turned legs terminating in pad feet. Height 74 cm, width 66.5 cm, depth 30 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The table is structurally sound. The top surface is in good order with only old marks and scratches as one would expect. The hinges are old but clearly later, it looks as if larger hinges have been in position as some point. There is a repair to the left hand side of the right hand hinge to the underside edge of the flap. The inner surface if generally in good order with the exception of the old repair which is not offensive. There is slight movement at the hinges. The drawers have minor nibbles around the fronts. The right hand brass handle has a small loss to the top. The legs are all in good order. The gate leg operates as it should.

Lot 1401

A Georgian oak snap top tripod occasional table, with turned column and three downswept legs. Diameter 67 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The table top is flat and not warped. It is a little dirty. There is a smattering of old woodworm holes visible. This is clearly long gone. There is a hole right in the centre of the top with filler. The table is structurally sound. The snap action is a little stiff but does operate. The turned column is in good order as are the three legs which do not appear to have any repairs.

Lot 1360

An Edwardian foliate marquetry square envelope card table, with single drawer and raised on tapered legs united by a raised shelf. Width 54.5 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The table is a little tired generally. All flaps slope slightly downwards and there is some movement at the hinges. The green baize is in poor condition. The veneered surround has stress fractures and veneer losses. The peg that lifts the first flap is missing. The flaps when viewed from above are in generally good order although there has been some shrinkage between the flaps. The frieze is in good condition all round. The drawer runs smoothly. The legs are all a little scuffed and marked. The centre shelf is loose. One stretcher has separated from one leg.

Lot 1191

A Victorian walnut marquetry circular centre table, with plate glass top and with bird musical instrument and floral decoration raised on a carved column with three downswept mythical creature form legs terminating in castors. Diameter 135 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The table has a plate glass top which has clearly protected the top surface. The top is in generally good condition with no significant problems with the marquetry. There is a stress fracture running across the table top above the two centre birds heads. There is no movement but there is a slight gap which at the widest point is 1 mm. The ebonised edge is in good condition all round as is the frieze. The table is structurally very sound with no movement. The snap action works as it should. The centre column and legs are all in good order with no issues. The castors are original. We cannot see any signs of woodworm.

Lot 1385

A William IV mahogany and rosewood banded sewing table, twin drop flap with single drawer and sliding bag raised on turned tapered legs terminating in brass castors. Height 79 cm, width closed 53 cm, depth 53 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The table is structurally sound. The top is in good order with no significant scuffs or marks. The flaps are not warped. There is no missing crossbanding. The drawer runs smoothly. The lock is present but we have no key. The slide operates as it should. All legs are in good condition with no repairs or restoration. The castors are original. The handles are present to the dummy drawer. There is no evidence of any woodworm.

Lot 1112A

A 19th century papier mache tray, raised on a later table stand. Width 73 cm, depth 58 cm, height 49 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The tray is in reasonably good condition. There are several edge losses and chips to the lacquer but no serious damage. The tray surface has numerous old marks and minor scratches. There is also some crazing to the original finish. We can see no evidence of any repairs or restoration and, as stated, the small losses and chips which are mostly to the underside edge are not particularly visible. The later table frame is in generally very good condition with no issues

Lot 1372

A late Victorian walnut small Sutherland table, with satinwood inlay and canted angles, raised on turned legs. Width 60 cm, length open 76 cm, height 60 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The table top is of uniform colour. The leaves are not warped. There are some minor surface scratches and old marks but no significant issues with the veneers. The moulded edge is in good condition all round. The legs and stretchers are in good condition. There are no repairs to the feet. The castors are original. We can see no evidence of any woodworm.

Lot 1300

A small 18th century oak gate leg table, with twist column supports and toupie feet. Width 63 cm, length open 79 cm, height 61 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: : The table is in generally very good order. It is a good colour. It is structurally sound. The leaves have no significant warping. There are some minor old ring marks and surface stress fractures as one would expect, but no significant issues with the top. The blocks to the underside of the top where the gates open to are later. All legs are in generally good condition. There is some minor traces of old long gone woodworm to areas of the barley twist supports. There are repairs to the majority of the toupie , they have had repairs to the outer scroll edge, there are also other repairs to the bases of the feet. These are old repairs and perfectly functional.

Lot 349

A George III embossed silver table salt, with blue glass liner and plated spoon, London mark for 1761, probably Thomas Whipham and Charles Wright. 360 grams excluding liner and spoon (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: Diameter at widest point 11.2 cm. Diameter at base 8 cm. Height of basin 9 cm excluding lid. Overall height 15 cm. The condition of the piece is generally very good. The hallmarks to the base are extremely clear. The body has two very small dents which would probably easily push out. The lid fits well. The outer lid lip is a little undulating in places and there is a small loss to one side of the spoon aperture. This is +/- 2.5 mm x 6 mm. The spoon aperture is also a little misshapen. The blue glass liner is in good order with no issues.

Lot 1364

A Regency mahogany drum table, with green tooled leather top, fitted with a series of actual and dummy drawers to the frieze and raised on a centre pedestal with downswept legs terminating in brass castors. Diameter 97 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The tooled leather surface is in generally very good condition with only very minor surface scuffs and marks. The crossbanded edge is in generally good order all round with only one veneer stress fracture. There are no losses, only very minor nibbles. The moulded edge is in good order all round. All drawer fronts are in good condition. There is one small area of veneer loss to one of the uprights between the drawers. All drawers run smoothly and all handles are present. The handles are later replacements but basically go through the original handle holes. The table is structurally sound on the base. The turned column is in good condition. There have been some old repairs to two of the legs but there is no movement. The castors are all present and original. There is no evidence of any woodworm.

Lot 1424

A Victorian mahogany extending dining table, with four leaves, with moulded edge and four downswept legs terminating in carved scroll feet and ceramic castors. Width 143 cm, length excluding leaves 182 cm, the four leaves adding 177 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The table is generally in good order. The four leave are ever so slightly darker than the ends. The table top is flat. The leaves are not warped. There are no significant splits and only minor scratches and scuffs as one would expect. Each leaf has the addition of a bottom edge frieze with gilt border to match the ends. The gilt line around the ends and to the legs is clearly a later embellishment. The winding mechanism has detached itself from the underside of the table. The winding mechanism requires some attention. Where the mechanism attaches to the frieze there is a stress fracture. The legs are all in good order. We can see no evidence of any woodworm. The only real issue is the attention required to the winding mechanism.

Lot 1281

An 18th century oak side table, with moulded edge and frieze drawer with shaped apron, raised on turned legs with stretchers and short turned feet. Height 72 cm, width 83 cm, depth 55 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The table is structurally sound with only very slight movement at the joints. The top is made from three planks. The top is flat. There are shrinkage gaps at just over 1 mm between each plank. The moulded edge is in good order all round. The frieze drawer has small losses to the top left and right hand corners and minor stress fractures. It runs fairly smoothly. The handle is a later replacement through the original handle holes. The frieze is in good order. All legs and stretchers are original and again in good condition. The turned feet are in good order. There is no evidence of any woodworm.

An early 19th century mahogany rent table, with green tooled leather writing surface and fitted with a series of actual and dummy frieze drawers with brass drop handles with octagonal backplates and raised on a turned centre column with four downswept legs terminating in brass capped castors. Height 75.5 cm, length 153 cm, depth 108 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The table is in generally good condition. The leather surface is a good colour and in generally good order with only minor surface scuffs and marks as one would expect. The moulded edge surrounding is in basically good condition all round with no losses and only minor stress fracturs and the odd small old veneer repair. All drawers are in generally good condition and all open and run smoothly. Where there is a lock it is present but we have no keys. All handle backplates are present. One brass drop is however missing. The table top sits securely on a form of cradle which is softwood. There is some evidence of woodworm to the cradle support, this should probably be treated but is not significantly problematic. The turned column beneath is in generally good order. The centre boss into which the legs fit has had old repairs but there is no movement. All legs themselves are in generally good order with minor old repairs. The castors are all present.
