Oak farmhouse kitchen table, 19th century, plank top with narrow drop leaves, rectangular supports, length 160cm, width 93cm, height 74cm.Condition report:The table has a very rustic appearance - the plank top has prominent gaps between the planks (up to 1cm in places), and all planks are worn to varying degrees meaning the overall surface is somewhat uneven. Multiple burn /scorch marks and historic marks throughout the top. Where the wood has dried along the grains and gaps have formed, these are quite full of dust and debris. Old worm activity to some of the planks but all now appears stable. The base is sound but the colours again vary greatly. One end has a runner bar running the width, whereas at the opposing end the planks just terminate (a possible old modification).

When without the extension there is a darker stripe down the centre length. When the extension leaf is inserted you can see it is significantly darker again. The extension leaf, which is integral - rotating up into position) has been inserted the wrong way so it needs just changing round (the male/ female dowels are matching male-male/ female-female). There is a couple of 2cmx1cm patches of veneer loss to one top of the table top. The base is generally good. The chair frames are all sound, with the leather having some scuffs and creases through use, a little stretched, but all able to take weight.

The vase section is very dry but is generally ok without any obvious breaks or splits to the supports or stretchers. It has the feel that it has been in outbuildings for some time. With some work it could return to being a handsome table.
