A GEORGE II MAHOGANY STOOL MID 18TH CENTURY The rectangular close-nailed seat upholstered in gros-point floral needlework on scrolled square cabriole legs carved with foliage and scales and leaves and with claw feet, possibly originally parcel-gilt with traces remaining 44cm high, 62cm wide, 48cm deepSaleroom notice: The description for this lot is correct on the online lot listing' A George II Mahogany Stool', and not as stated in the printed catalogue. Condition Report: There are the inevitable minor dents marks and scratches and shrinkage cracks due to age and use. Wear to feet and lacking definition to carving. All legs with notable horizontal dents below the knee where the stool must have suffered repeated impact (perhaps from panelling, a low table or otherwise). Rails and brackets with old upholstery nail marks and old worm damage. Wear and some losses to inside brackets and joints. There are very small traces of old gilding (probably originally on the carved parts). The upholstery is good condition, clean and with slight general wear and tear. Condition Report Disclaimer
A GEORGE I PROVINCIAL WALNUT AND ASH CARD-TABLE CIRCA 1720 The feather-banded and quarter-veneered green baize lined top above a pierced scrolled frieze on slender cabriole legs and pad feet 71cm high, 83cm wide, 39cm deep Condition Report: Overall there are some scratches, marks, chips, cracks and abrasions consistent with age and use.There is some colour variation in part due to sun fading.There is some evidence of old worm.There are some losses and renovations to include: the hinged bearer to the back leg and a metal brace; some ears to the tops of the cabriole legs; the green baize; the hinge area; a spliced foot; some filler; blocks.The cut of the frieze has an unusual and pleasing look.Please see all the additional condition report photographs through the link on the condition report email as a visual reference of condition. A GILT METAL MOUNTED MILK GLASS TABLE LAMP LATE 19TH CENTURY Possibly French, adapted from an oil lamp base 41.5cm high, 85cm high with current shade Condition Report: Adaption has failed at upper junction to top of vase and will require remedial work before domestic use. Gilding very dirty and would benefit strongly from a clean. The shade has perished completely. ELECTRICAL GOODS. A HEALS `LETCHWORTH' OAK TABLE EARLY 20TH CENTURY The rectangular top on slightly splayed square legs, the end rails slightly arched, on sleigh feet with shaped ends 76cm high, 163cm long, 76cm wide Condition Report: Overall in good condition, structurally secure, clean and of good colour. There are the inevitable minor dents marks and shrinkage cracks due to age and use. The table top is a good, fairly even colour, a little variable sun-fading, some localised dark staining (see additional images). The legs and sleigh feet slightly scuffed. The top secured to the frame with rotating wooden tongues that locate in rebate on inner surfaces of frame. A good, stylish and characterful table in ready-to-use condition, with a good overhang to the top that makes it supremely fit for purpose as an eating table or a desk. The yewwood veneers have typical rich colour and lustrous figure, there are some minor old repairs to veneers, note that the veneer losses to the drawer rail in the photograph have been reinstated. There is an old filled split through the top of the table, the filler material now discolored (green). Drawer handles replaced.
