Oil paint on canvas depicting the Last Supper. Fragment attributed to Felice Brusasorzi (Verona 1542- Verona 1605 ). Cm 95x120. "The Brusasorzi family's workshop, was one of the most active in Verona. After sixty years of activity, it became a sort of academy, where many artists merged. Felice, son of the painter Domenico, was formed in this workshop which was the link between the Tosco-Roman and Venetian painting. He worked for all his life in Verona, except for a few trips to Florence in 1596, documented by Vasari. He was a member of the "Accademia Filarmonica" in Verona. His stylistic signature is found through some of his signed work. Substantially his works are inspired by his father's paintigs, in which mannerism is influenced by Tuscan and Mantuan painting, with Veronesians influences. The sacredness of the "Last Supper" scene is manifested by the psychological agitation of the characters. The stillness of the objects, placed on the table, contrast to the characters's gestures. The Venetian coloristic influence livens up the scene where the realistic naturalism, from Lombard influence, is mitigated and softened". ASOR Studio
