A late Georgian amethyst, citrine, diamond and enamel, heart shaped clip brooch,with an applied pansy. The heart shaped plaque with an applied pansy flower head, set with graduated foiled amethysts, citrines and old cushion shaped diamonds, possibly fancy light yellow. All set in cut down collets, to a white enamel ground, with a blue champlevé border and the gold wording, 'vous-le-meritez' translated as 'you deserve it'. The plaque with a later closed back, later mounted to a clip brooch. A Georgian foil backed rock crystal brooch,with a cushion shaped faceted rock crystal in a cut down setting edge, to a dome back setting. A replacement 'C' catch and eyelet. Tested as approximately 18ct and 15ct gold. 25 x 21mm, 12.43gScratches and marks consistent with age. Tarnished. Later metal pin, 'C' catch and eyelet.Small dent behind the hinge.Pin holes at the join to the dome back at this point. Conchoidal fractures to the rock crystal.Foil deteriortated. Table and crown facet edge wear.

Lot 205

A graduated garnet set fringe necklace and garnet bracelet, c.1930,with a series of graduated emerald cut garnets, all four claw set in shallow collets, forming the centrepiece. Trace chain to each side with a bolt ring clasp and a matching bracelet with a concealed box clasp. Tested as approximately 9ct gold. Bracelet 183mm long, necklace 405mm long, 17.50gSome deficiencies in the dimensions and proportions of the cuts. There was possibly a figure of eight safety catch on the bracelet clasp.Minor marks to the table or crown facet edges under 10x magnification. Fairly rose gold in colour, the chain less so.

An 18ct gold ruby and diamond ring, by John Donald, c.1975,commissioned by the vendor's late father. An oval mixed cut ruby, with a stated weight of 0.50ct, four claw set with white claws, to a wave effect head, formed from scattered leaves. Graduated brilliant cut diamonds, with a stated total weight of 0.22ct, all four claw set in white, scattered across the head, to flat tapered shoulders and a plain shank. London 1975. Head 9.70mm, 5.84g. A pierced finger guard with an interior shank adjuster, to a 'D' section shank. Marked 750, Italian official national marks 1968 to present, for Alessandria. A 14ct white gold tanzanite and diamond ring,with a cushion shaped Brazilian cut tanzanite, double claw set at the corners, to a plain collet. Flat section shoulders, 6mm wide, each channel set with two rows of three princess cut diamonds, to flat section solid shoulders and a plain shank. Birmingham 2010. Head 18.50 x 14.00mm, 10.76g.Finger size L½ LECondition ReportHas not been worn, may have minor surface marks from being handled - under 10x magnification. Small chip to the table facet edge and a scratch close to the claw, probably caused during setting.There is no known weight on the tanzanite - estimated weight 8.60ct.Pavillion to one side. Deep bluish purple. Natural tanzanite.

A Georgian diamond set closed crescent brooch,in a later case by Garrard & Co. Ltd. The crescent with a central row of graduated cushion cut diamonds, all set in cut down collets, with outer rows of smaller graduated cushion cut diamonds, all in cut down collets with flat, closed back settings. A screw fitting to enable a forchere or hair fitting to be attached. A plaque attached to the case lid hand engraved SS 'Clymene', launched 19th December 1960. Marked PT 950 and tested as platinum. Signed Becker and Joden. Marked to the underside of the head 1.00, 5.77, 1.07 possibly the known gemstone weights. Head 17.80 x 11.70mm, 9.69g. Accompanied by a report from Gemmological Certification Services no. 5782-666 dated 09/02/2022 stating: natural corundum ruby. Origin Madagascar. No indication of heating.
