A 19th century French serpentine walnut fold over card table, the crossbanded top with inlaid floral and swag motif over a shaped frieze, with cabriole legs and ormolu mounts to the shoulders and feet, 36 x 19in. (91.4 x 48.2cm.) closed, 36 x 36in. (91.4 x 91.4cm.) open, 30in. (76.2cm.) high. * Condition: Loss of some veneer, replacement baise.
A 17th century and later Augsburg marquetry table cabinet, fitted with a mahogany top and sides, originally with a door to the front, fitted with two long drawers above a central cupboard (concealing three secret drawers) and four short drawers, two dummy drawers beneath, all decorated with marquetry town scenes of buildings among palm trees, the dummy drawers masking a slide out (unlined) easel writing surface with two concealed side drawers beneath, on a ogee moulded walnut plinth with central slide, 19½ x 12¾in. (49.5 x 32.4cm.), 16 3/8in. (41.6cm.) high, alterations.
A fine late Victorian mahogany circular extending dining table with leaf holder by Edwards and Roberts, the moulded top over a plain frieze, raised on five turned tapering and reeded legs with ceramic castors, the leaf storage containing five additional leaves, with vacant space for a sixth, 60 x 60in. (152.4 x 152.4cm.) closed, 29¼in. (74.2cm.) high, 163 x 60in. (414 x 152.4cm.) fully extended, leaf holder 26 x 20¼in. (66 x 51.4cm.), 67½in. (171.4cm). This table does extend sufficiently to take a sixth leaf. * Condition: Colour match good between leaves and D-ends, mechanism excellent. A few very small scratches to the leaves, but very good overall. Leaf rack contains five leaves only.
A Louis XVI style mahogany card table, the stepped top opening to inset green baize playing surface, over two frieze drawers with brass round ring handles, raised on tapering fluted legs terminating in brass caps, 17¾ x 35¼in. (45 x 89.5cm.) closed, 30¼in. (76.8cm.) high, 35¼ x 35¼in. (89.5 x 89.5cm.) open. * Condition: Good throughout.
A fine William IV Ottoman style amboyna and ormolu English double fusee domed bracket or table clock, by Payne & Co. of 163 New Bond Street, London, circa 1830, the amboyna case with high domed top, profusely decorated with ormolu mounts, standing on ormolu double scroll feet to each of the outset corners, the arched sides and movement door with silk grilles behind ormolu masks, the gilt brass arched dial finely chased with leafy scrolls, with signed Roman chapter ring and Strike-Silent dial to the arch, fronting a restored double fusee movement striking the hours and half hours on a gong, with pull repeat, 16in. (40.7cm.) high.* Provenance: W. F. Turk, Fine Antique Clocks, Wimbledon Chase, London, c.1999 * Condition: Winds, runs and strikes correctly. In good condition overall. Movement very clean and has clearly been professionally cleaned and restored at some time. Minor veneer chips around key holes to sides. Locks original and functioning correctly. Some gilt wear to ormolu throughout. Dial very good, with a few tiny flakes to enamel on numerals and small scratch to centre. Case in good condition - old, minor cracks to veneers to movement door and a few tiny nicks and scratches to veneers and mouldings, which would be expected. Arched moulding above the movement door is slightly loose to one side. Two cracks to the lattice ormolu mask to the front of the dome, and one crack to the centre of the mask on the opposing side.
A WWI trench art table gong, with simple wooden stand and wood and leather beater, the cut-down shell case impressed '1917', 6¾in. (17.1cm.) diameter; together with a WW1 trench art brass shell case, repoussé decorated with a design of a stag among trees, 10in. (25.4cm.) high. (2)
A 17th century Japanese Ryukyu Islands lac burgaute kang low table, inlaid with mother-of-pearl with a central landscape of figures in a garden with pavilions, pine, prunus and bamboo, set within a border of scrolling foliage and diaper panels, above a shaped apron, supported on four small curled feet 22½ x 14in. (57.8 x 35.6cm.), 5in. (12.7cm.) high.* Provenance: Christies South Kensington, Japanese Ceramics and Works of Art, 28th June 2001, Lot 113. * Condition: Some old losses to lacquer and mother of pearl inlay in places, and some small chips and losses to lacquer to edges. No restoration evident.
A Chinese mother of pearl inlaid hardwood panel, probably early 20th century, possibly original part of a table screen, inlaid with finely engraved mother of pearl, depicting a noblewoman in a rickshaw with attendants on foot and on horseback, outside a pavilion in a landscape with trees and rockwork and birds and butterflies in flight above, 28 x 13½in. (71 x 34.3cm.). * Condition: A few shrinkage cracks to the edges of the main carved panel and cresting, and some water staining to the polish around the moulding below the pierced cresting. Small chip to top edge at back of cresting. No losses or restorations to inlays.
A Chinese carved hardwood table cabinet, probably 19th century, the panelled top over a pierced five panel frieze with dragon motifs, above a pair of doors to the centre with lower bas relief panels carved with vases below reticulated panels with figures amidst flowering plants, the three larger reticulated panels beneath with figures amidst trees, the sides with glazed panels over lower panels carved with auspicious objects, on four curled feet, 17¼ x 9¾in. (43.8 x 24.8cm.), 18½in. (47cm.) high. * Condition: Fading to top and a shrinkage crack across the panel. Fading to colour to left hand side. The right hand glazed panel is missing part of the pierced frame and a section is replaced to the glazed panel on the left side. Small shrinkage crack to top of the right hand door.
A pair of Royal Bonn pottery vases, Germany, decorated with painted images of spring flowers; signed and numbered to underside, 8¾in (22.3cm.) high, together with a Limoges lidded table box, decorated with flowers with white and pink ground with gilt highlights. (3) * Condition: Vases with dull sound, but no chips or cracks found, box good.
A George IV painted Jersey spinning wheel dated 1829, the base/table, drive wheel spokes and all supports naively painted with 'MCT 1829' near the wheel, 47 x 13in. (119.3 x 33cm.), 42in. (106.6cm.) high. * Condition: Old worm holes throughout, some shrink cracks forming, outer edges of drive wheel de laminating slightly.
A pair of modern Louis XVI style brass figural table lamp candelabra, each figure holding cornucopia with six cast foliate branches around central stem, all with light fitting and silk shades, 33¼in. (84.5cm.) high. (2) * Condition: Both working when in situ, light wear to brass, overall very good.
