An Edwardian gold amethyst and split pearl brooch/pendant,a cushion cut amethyst bezel set to a millegrain edge, with split pearl trefoil clusters at the compass points, suspending an articulated blister pearl drop with bud and leaves surmount. Brooch fittings with pin and safety catch. A slider wire bale to enable the brooch to be worn as a pendant. A French black dot paste set cross, possibly c.1798 -1809,with five old European cut black dot paste, each rub set to a conical collet with raised petal decoration. Pierced scrolling terminals set with paste. Pierced scrolling rays between, similarly set with paste and a concealed hook style bale. A paste set surmount and bale later suspended with a baby belcher chain. 79mm x 52mm. French poinçon for 18ct gold standard. Tested as approximately 18ct gold. 8.17gCondition ReportScratches and marks consistent with its age. Dents to the dome back settings.Foil deterioration to some paste causing them to appear dark or more golden in colour.Table and crown facet edge wear. Additional surmount - a marriage but easily removed.
