A late 19th/early 20th century oak turners armchair by John Starkey, with turned and incised decoration overall, bearing makers label, together with a mahogany serpentine console table, raised on carved cabriole legs, 78 cm high x 138 cm wide x 43 cm deep. (2) John Starkey 60 & 62 Smith Street, Warwick, was an exponent of the revival cabinet makers centred in Warwick. A copy of a 17th century turners chair at Lord Leycester`s Hospital, known as the "Saxon chair". An identical chair, one of a near pair sold at Christies South Kensington 13th November 2002 lot: 274.
A Victorian octagonal table with specimen wood top, raised on bobbin turned legs, 67 cm high x 64 cm wide x 64 cm deep, together with a Victorian ebony and parcel gilt jardinière stand 78 cm high and an occasional table with a needlework top labelled the needlewoman shop 146-148 Regent St. London. A Victorian Bristol glass table centrepiece, composed of upright and hanging plate glass pyramids supported upon octagonal glass tiers, the pyramids surmounted by glass birds of varying size, form and decoration, the whole raised upon turned wooden base within glass dome, 55cm high.
