Alan Peters: A Bespoke Ash Table, commissioned by Biba, 1985, in three sections, of plain rectangular design, 241cm by 130cm by 76cm with two extensions made to extend the table or fit together as a table, of rectangular design with canted corners, 134cm by 75cm by 76cm (3)Alan Peters OBE, furniture designer, maker and teacher, served a seven-year apprenticeship in the workshop of Edward Barnsley. He set up his own workshop in Hindhead, Surrey in 1962, moving in 1973 to Kentisbeare, Devon. He was appointed OBE in 1900 for his contribution to furniture making, and in the same year set up a new workshop in Minehead, Somerset.
