A group of three comprising:a French-Empire-style turquoise and gilded table lamp of campana form;a modern Herend fruit bowl with reticulated border and hand decorated with various fruits and insects to the outside (23.5 cm in diameter);an early 19th century hand-gilded and decorated sucrier and cover
A 19th century pine side table with single full-width drawer and square tapering legs (80.5cm wide)There is prevalent water damage to the top; the legs are sturdy, the joints don't seem to be weakening, the top may be later as there is evidence of other wood having been connected to it as some stage and there are some reparations underneath, one or two new blocks and screws holding the top on to the base. The drawer does look 19th century. The Auctioneer suggests best to buy table as just a good-looking rustic pine side table as opposed to a genuine 'antique'. Nice proportions, good, strong sturdy table with some scuffs and marks etc. mostly towards the bottom of the legs commensurate with age.
A mid-19th century octagonal rosewood work-table: tapering stem; tripod base; to include contents (75cm high x 40cm wide x 9.5cm top thickness)Generally good condition commensurate with age. Base, legs and stem have crusty surface commensurate with age. The lock is missing and there is a historic 7"/8" horizontal 'crack' running across the grain in the middle of the lid which can be discerned when running hand over the surface. There is a dark centre on the lid, one of the pieces of the outside moulding may well have been replaced. The legs are in good condition, the hinged lid opens to reveal fitted interior.
An 18th century circular-topped oak occasional table of vernacular construction: galleried top of good colour above a turned stem and Manx-style tripod base (36.5 cm in diameter and 67 cm high)Central fillet on the top. Very vernacular piece of a very nice and pleasing colour. There is a patinated bearer to the underside and the turned stem terminates in a very unusual hexagonal 'nut'-shaped end. The legs have historic strengthening nails into the bottom of the stem and there is an old blacksmith-made spider with blacksmith-made screws. There is some evidence of historic woodworm mostly to the bottom of the legs. Top slightly faded and there is evidence of strengthening and the holes have been filled on the top but overall the Auctioneer reports that it is a nice vernacular table with a good look, colour and proportion.
A good refectory table: finely figured and patinated thick two-plank walnut top with cleated ends; four oak gun-barrel-style supports united by an H-form stretcher (212 cm wide x 78 cm deep x 76 cm high)The top of the table is removable and in the Auctioneer's opinion the top has a very nice colour. There is bit of a gap between the two planks and there are some water marks which, in the Auctioneer's opinion, could be remedied by a re-polish. A very heavy item overall, the top is very thick (approx. 2") ; the base is very nice and much darker than the top, scuffs and some marks commensurate with age and usage mostly confined to the bottom of the legs. The item has a moulded H-form stretcher which is lighter in places than others and has some scratches etc. About 1½-2feet in from one of the ends there is a natural crack of about 4-5" around a natural knot in the wood and in Auctioneer's opinion does not detract from the overall look of the table. Overall a stunning looking table for the right location
