His archive is now in the Tate and courses on his work are run at the Courtauld Institute. He left Prague in search of the greatest artists of his age and, when in Paris, spent time in discussion with Picasso, Braque, Cocteau and Matisse. He purchased this guitar on his travels and taught himself how to play
