A PAIR OF CAPE YELLOWWOOD AND INLAID DEMI-LUNE TABLES, 20TH CENTURY each demi-lune top inlaid with half a star to form a whole, above a plain frieze, on square-section tapering legs 77cm high, 152cm diameter Cape half-moon tables were usually made in pairs and date to the early 1800s. The first table tops were often made from one plank of wood, and the legs were square-section. Later tables had turned legs in keeping with the Victorian style. The pair on this sale, while made in the late 20th century, are finely made reproductions of an early pair of demi-lune tables. (2)
