A good pair of late 19th Century French kingwood, walnut and gilt metal mounted three drawer circular Side Tables on cabriole legs terminating in brass sabot, each 32cm diameter CONDITION REPORT: One of the tables has a slightly bent pierced gallery the other is also slightly bent but in our opinion this could be rectified fairly easily, the drawers on table one all look in nice condition, when the table is turned around no major problems noted, the gilt metal sabot are all there, the legs are in an unrestored and unbroken original condition although some minor scratches etc., to be expected commensurate with age but generally in a very good overall original condition. Some minor scratching to some exposed wood areas, it should be noted that the circular crossbanding around the top is slightly lifting in several places across the original grain etc., and there is a 3/4cm double match sized piece of veneer look to be away and glued back right on the edge of the crossbanding next to and almost underneath the pierced gallery. Table two - the top looks good and flat with no problems, a slight kink in the pierced gallery, the drawer fronts all look good, turning the table around no major problems noted, some minor scratching etc., turning the table up again all the chutes and sabot are still on the legs and heading the legs, the legs do not appear to have sustained any damage, breaks or restoration etc., save a few minor scratches commensurate with age. Generally good overall original condition with no major problems noted. This lot come privately.
Tiffany Studios, New York, a fine Art Nouveau style circular topped Occasional Table (possibly originally a lamp base), the pineapple style finial above a circular black marble top and cast bronze and pierced cast bronze base in high Art Nouveau style terminating in four splaying feet modelled as tendrils, stamp cast bronze underside Tiffany Studios, New York and numbered 442, 45cm diameter x 50cm high (to top of marble) CONDITION REPORT: This has come from an Eastern royal family. The pineapple style finial has been removed from the centre of the table but as you can see there is a circular washer and a screw thread sticking which is not easily removable.
A mid-18th century tilt-top mahogany tripod Occasional Table with bird-cage mechanism; the one-piece, Chippendale style, pie-crust edged top above a gun barrel stem and tripod base with elongated pad feet, 76cm diameter CONDITION REPORT: The top although original condition is quite badly water marked and stained as shown in the images, the pie crust edge seems in good original overall order with no pieces noted to be missing, it looks like the original bird cage mechanism and the original spring loaded metal catch underneath, the rails look good too with no real evidence of replacements, gun barrel stem again is quite matt and exhibits quite a lot of water marks and scratches and some dents etc., commensurate with age, this has come privately and is in relatively good order. It is true to say one of the legs has been broken at some stage and there is an old repair down at the bottom, there is a rusty old triform brace underneath which is usual.
An early 20th century Chinese hardwood low Occasional Table, the frieze and bowed ends pierced and carved in relief with decorative prunus blossom, the urns terminating in tightly carved scrolls, 92cm wide CONDITION REPORT: A fair amount of discolouration of wood to the top, mostly the carving seems to be in good general overall condition, no major breaks or repairs noted, scratches and small chips to the feet commensurate with age. One leg has been re-glued and strengthened so there is dried white glue on this.
