An early 19th century brass bound coromandel vanity case, circa 1840, the hinged cover with decorated monogram to the centre opening to reveal removable tray with silver mounted dressing table items, Archibald Douglas, London 1827-1828, with four silver topped dressing table jars to back, ‘TD’ London 1835, 34.5cm wide Condition report: The velvet interior to the hinged cover opens to reveal removable mirror. All silver tops show general scuffs, surface blemishes and scratches. The silver tops to the four dressing table jars are squashed to various degrees. One dressing table jar to back with associated stopper. The glass bottoms to all jars are scratched and with minor chips. General tarnishing seen throughout. The interior of the case shows debris, fading, scuffs and scratches, areas of loss throughout.
A burr walnut lady's dressing vanity case, 19th century, the hinged cover with vacant mother of pearl cartouche, the front panel with similar escutcheon above a secret drawer, the fitted interior with dressing table jars and bottles each with silver-coloured metal top engraved with floral and foliate motifs, the case 31cm W x 23cm D x 18.5cm H (at fault) CONDITION REPORT:The case shows surface wear, surface scratching and sun bleaching to the walnut throughout. The hinged cover shows losses to the beading, a crack to the top, a further crack and some distortion to the back left corner, and a stain or mark to the front right corner. The case shows further losses to the beading. The interior velvet cover lining is secured with carpet tacks. The interior shows wear commensurate with age and use. The bottles and jars show wear, pitting and some discolouration to the metal tops. The secret drawer release mechanism is functional, however the secret drawer shows a loss to the interior fittings.

A cut glass and silver plated four branch table centrepiece, 20th century, the central cut glass bowl of floral form, raised on a scrolled openwork stand supporting smaller cut glass bowls on reeded arms, quatre foil base, 34cm high, 55cm wide CONDITION REPORT:The stand shows rubbing to the silver plate, including rubbing through to base metal at the high points. All the bowls show nibbles to high points, but no obvious chips or cracks.

A George V silver and enamel dressing table set, possibly Henry Matthews, Birmingham, date mark rubbed, comprising bedside clock, two hair brushes, two clothes brush, button hook, hand held mirror, and circular dressing table jar, decorated in pink guilloche enamel detail, hair brush 22.5cm long (8) Condition report: All pieces show general scuffs, tarnishing and scratches throughout, commensurate with age and use. Majority of marks are rubbed to each piece. Clock: Residue to enamel, would benefit from a clean. No major areas of loss to the enamel The reverse of the clock is rubbed, tarnished and scuffed It is unmarked. Jar lid: No major areas of loss to the enamel to lid Possible small area of re enamelling, seen as light catches the area. Scuffs seen to the base of the glass body. 1st hair brush: Surface blemishes and scuffs Scratches to enamelling, no major signs of loss m2nd hair brush: Fading, splits and chips to the enamelling Button hook: Areas of loss, particularly to the top of the handle Scratches throughout. 1st clothes brush: Minor areas of loss to the enamelling 2nd clothes brush: Major areas of loss, especially to the corners Scratches and blemishes as well Mirror: Major chips, and areas of loss to the enamelling. Fading seen as well.
