A pair of 19thC Chinese porcelain covered vases, of inverted baluster shape, painted in famille rose with a scene depicting two female musicians with their attendants and companions, seated around a table before a window showing a view of the sun rising over a foaming sea, the continuous scene opening out to a terrace on the reverse, depicting other female figures engaged in leisurely pursuits, concentric blue circle marks to undersides, the domed covers with bold iron red finials, 14.5” overall height - breaks to one neck rim

A unique 19c working kit of over 400 stamps used by the ASTON family workshops, the noted rule-makers of Birmingham. The kit comprises name, street and town stamps proving that Astons made rules for numerous different companies stamped with the buyers own name eg J.Sime, Ullathorne, J.Dobie and approx. 100 dealer and name stamps. Also included are numerous stamps for marking the rules incl. 17 Line Graduation marks, Fractions, 48 Routledge Table marks and 50 other rule stamps, t/w c140 number and letter stamps of various sizes. All the stamps are hand made to the highest quality and are very crisp and sharp c/w 3 strips of beech with many of the names marks, all in superb condition F
