An 18th century oak refectory table. With a rectangle plank top twin trestle supports on sledge feet united by a stretcher, later additions height 74cm width 213cm depth 90cm.The top has wear, chips, scratches and staining commensurate with age and usage. A split and old repair to the apron which is a later addition. There are old repairs to the trestle ends and stretcher. The trestle ends are later additions. The table is stable with firm joints with appropriate pegs.
An oak cricket table. 20th century, the circular top on three legs united by an undershelf, height 69cm, diameter 60cm.The table is sturdy, with no evidence of woodworm.There are a few marks and scratches, on the underside there are a few vacant holes, possibly signs of a previous repair, please refer to the additional images.
Penzance interest, a set of step ladders, an extending ladder and a pasting table. All sign written for the Penzance decorating firm John Peak & Sons. (3)The family business ‘John Peak & Sons’ (4/5 Causewayhead Penzance) ran from 1882 - 1994 and up until the 1960’s the business also had their own professional decorators. You could buy your wallpaper/paint etc and hire the professional decorators too. These ladders and wallpapering table were the business ones used by the decorating team.
A Victorian oak cricket table. Raised on three triangular chamfered legs, height 62cm, diameter 72cm.There is a little movement in the legs, but still sturdy and useable. It is rather 'dry' underneath and there are few historic worm holes.There are a few knocks and marks on the surface, including a small blackened (burnt?) area.
A late Victorian pine farmhouse table. The rectangular top with a moulded edge and fitted an end drawer and raised on turned legs, height 75cm, width 187cm, depth 103.5cm.Several gouges out of the top, heavy wear and roughness also with exposed screw heads attaching the top to the frame. Drawer knob lacking, with chips and small losses with general wear joints are firm and solid.The height floor to apron is 56cm.
A late Victorian pine side table. Fitted a single long drawer with turned knobs, and raised on square legs with stretchers, height 75cm, width 122cm, depth 64cm.There is some historic worm on the edge of the top.The table is sturdy and the drawer works smoothly. It has been repolished and the handles are probably replacements, there are a few marks and scratches.
A late Georgian primitive oak circular occasional table. With a figured top, on a chamfered pillar and tripod base, height 62cm, diameter 53.5cm.Old repairs throughout, all the feet have been cut down, old cracks to the top with heavy wear and staining. Images of affected areas on Lay's website.

A set of six early 19th century American metalwares table spoons, mark of Samuel Richards, Philadelphia, circa 1800, 'Fiddle' pattern, monogrammed, 13.5ozt gross (6)Overall in good condition with no obvious signs of repairs. Some surface scratches as to be expected and commensurate with use. Marks and engraving clear and readable. Some minor scuffing to the backs of the bowls, one bowl with a more obvious scuff. Some minor wear and nicks to the rims of the bowls. Some staining to the shaft of one - probably elastic band residue.
