Molinier (Etienne). A Mirrour for Christian States: or, A Table of Politick Vertues considerable amongst Christians, translated into English, by William Tyrwhit, 1st edition, printed by Thom. Harper, 1635, [24], 216, 219-361 pages (complete), woodcut initials, contemporary sprinkled plain calf, with double-blind ruled border to each cover, a little rubbed and marked and 2 small paper labels to head and foot of spine, small 4to STC 18003. Provenance: Macclesfield Library, Shirburn Castle, with large bookplate to front pastedown for the South Library, and press mark 161.B.29. The first English edition of Molinier's Politiques Chrestiennes, published in Paris in 1621, in which the author provides a Christian for those involved in politics. (1)
