A Regency amboyna sofa table, with ebonised stringing, the crossbanded top inlaid ebony and ivory stringing above a pair of frieze drawers and false drawers to the reverse fitted ebonised knob handles, the twin flaps on shaped supports, the tapering end supports on ogee bases and rectangular platforms to carved paw feet with applied florets and with steel castors, 29in (73.5cm) h, 38in (96.5cm) w, 28in (71.5cm) d. Cedar lined drawers, crack running whole depth across top on left hand side, restoration.
A mahogany rent table, the octagonal reeded edge top above eight frieze drawers each inlaid with brass letters, on a turned stem to four hipped downswept legs to brass caps cast with vine leaves and brass castors, late George III and later, 30in (76cm) h, 47in (119.4cm) w. Some drawer linings replaced, one leg spliced.
An Italian pietra dura table top, decorated with a floral and leaf wreath centred a dancing harlequin figure, inlaid with various hard stones including malachite, lapis lazuli, and agate, 2nd half 19th century, probably Florence, inset into a mahogany and brass mounted base, the moulded edge above a panelled frieze on square tapering legs headed by engraved urns, united by an undertier, the base late 19th century, possibly Baltic or Russian, 29.25in (74.3cm) h, 31.5in (80cm) dia. Losses to brass inlay.
A Louis XVI tulipwood and marquetry table a ecrire by Francois-Gaspard Teune, the top inset a leather surface and with a brass gallery above a frieze drawer with laurel swags, the drawer stamped twice 'F.G. TEUNE JME', with a conforming back and sides, the square tapering legs with crenellated gilt metal collars on brass caps and castors, the underside also stamped 'F.G. TEUNE JME', 27.75in (70.2cm) h, 25.75in (65.5cm) w, 16.25in (41.1cm) d. Restored crack to top, one castor loose. Francois Gaspard Teune was made master in 1766. He trained in the workshop of his uncle Jean Popsel (maitre in 1755). Together with Popsel, Teune collaborated on the manufacture of furniture for the marchand-ebeniste Pierre II Migeon.

A fine mid Victorian harewood writing table attributed to Holland and Sons, the rectangular top with a central tooled leather surface to tulipwood banding and an egg and dart gilt brass edge above two frieze drawers banded with purple heart and inlaid a diaper motif, with conforming sides and a dummy reverse, on square tapering supports headed by ormolu paterae and mounted with tassellated drapes, terminating in acanthus and on ball feet, 29.25in (74.2cm) h, 42in (106.6cm) w, 24.25in (61.5cm) d. We believe this table to be a fine example of the work of the leading Victorian cabinet makers Holland & Sons. The business started in 1803 by Stephen Taprell and William Holland (who was certainly related to the architect Henry Holland), became Holland & Sons in 1843. During the next thirty years the firm established its reputation at various international exhibitions including Paris in 1855. Commissions from various members of the Royal family included work at Buckingham Palace, Osborne House, Balmoral and Marlborough House. This present lot is typical of the fashion for French influenced furniture at the time and is very similar to a marquetry inlaid writing table with the inventory stamp of Queen Alexandra, wife of King Edward VII (1901-10) which was with the Alexander Gallery, 1976.
A mahogany lady's kneehole dressing table, in the manner of John Bagshaw and Sons, the hinged panelled top concealing a triptych pull-out mirror with bevelled plates, with attachable gilt metal lamps, above an interior fitted with silver mounted jars and bottles, ivory handled beauty utensils, clothes and hair brushes, mostly original and stamped with a crest with a lion rampant above a banner inscribed 'EN GRACE AFFIE', the silver hallmarked for Charles Boyton & Son's, London 1924, with hinged trays and two secret drawers above two frieze drawers on square tapering legs to brass castors, 35in (88.8cm) h, 31.25in (79cm) w, 23in (58.5cm) d. Scratches to top.
A rosewood, parcel gilt, ormolu and penwork occasional table, the rectangular top centred a classical scene with a cornucopia and foliage border, on a ribbed and carved leaf stem with conforming triform base with three ormolu animal leg supports to a panelled triform base and bun feet, formerly a Regency pole fire screen, 20.25in (51.5cm) h, 18.5in (47.5cm) w, 14in (35.5cm) d.
