Royal and Coaching Interest - A Robinson, Cook & Holdway sketchbook, formerly the property of Maxwell Monson Limited, Coach Builders, containing the hand-drawn Heraldic Crests of their clientele, including many Royal and Aristocratic Families of Europe, tooled to front "Robinson Cook & Holdway sketchbook" and with paper label inscribed "not to be taken away the property of Maxwell Monson Limited", and a printed Geneological Table of the "Noble family of Monson, Baron Monson & C" from John Monson (lived in the Reign of K Richard the second - circa 1766) , together with a hand-written order book for "Her Most Gracious Majesty The Queen (Victoria) and his Most Gracious Majesty the King (Edward VII and George V) covering the years 1838-1912, tooled and gilded red leather bound, the front with tooled Royal crest and "Her Majesty" and bearing paper label "Not to be taken away the property of Maxwell Monson Limited" CONDITION REPORTS The red bound book - Some loose pages, pages yellowed, some foxing, ink fading in places, red leather is tatty in placed. The brown bound book - bindings are loose and broken, paper is yellowed, there is some foxing in places. Both items have general wear and tear throughout.

A snap top occaisional table, the roswood framed top rail inset with still life picture of scattered accoutrements to include £10 note, opened letter, sealing wax in watercolour, raised on a mahogany turned column to three cabriole legs to hoof feet, 35 cm x 64.5 cm CONDITION REPORTS Various splits to the frame and top of the table, some scratches, watermarks, small chips, etc throughout. Watermark to the picture. Yellowed stained, creased. Base supported with iron , signs of repair, splits, etc. Small chips, scratches and knocks throughout. Repair to one foot where it has been broken off. General wear and tear.
A Victorian gilt brass and pale green glass and gilt decorated table lamp in the Gothic Revival taste, the original candle holder with "Palmer & Co. Patent" telescopic action, raised on a cast tripod base, decorated with harpists (converted for electricity), 69 cm high overall CONDITION REPORTS Brass has pitting and discolouration throughout. The column has various firing flaws and white marks all over and a small internal crack. Gilding is rubbed. Surface scratches. Some brown dripped residue to the base and discolouration , pitting etc. Green verdigris coming through. General dirty. Knocks, wear. Base appears to have had some repairs on the inside. Telescopic mechanism goes up and down but does stop (ie is loose). Wire has been cropped.
A Birmingham Guild of Handicrafts copper wall light or table lamp designed by Arthur Stansfield Dixon, the tapering scrollwork support on a domed plate pierced for wall mounting, hinged and supporting a hammered copper shade with brass cap, approx 55 cm high CONDITION REPORTS For further information see ALAN CRAWFORD "By Hammer and Hand" Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, Page 99, Plate 77 and Page 101, Plate 80 for a contemporary illustration of a display of similar lamps by The Birmingham Guild of Handicrafts - also see Christie's South Kensington Classic Arts and Crafts Sale 2nd November 2000 Lot 173 for an identical piece and Woolley & Wallis Lot 533 3rd December 2014. Condition: There is some sticky residue from stickers, there are a couple of dents to the outer rim, slightly mis-shapen. The bulb holder appears to be a replacement. The ferule beneath the holder does not fit flush with the ball pivot. There is a blob of glue or solder and a small hole on the side of the stand. General wear and tear to include wear to the copper especially on its base, some surface scratches. See images for details.
An oak refectory table in the 17th Century manner, the plank top above a bog oak and holly chequer inlaid frieze, on six carved cup and cover supports to stretchered base, 211 cm x 99 cm CONDITION REPORTS Some dark stains to the top. Signs of water damage. Some 'greyed' areas. Various splits starting from the ends. Some damage and losses to the bog oak and holly chequerboard including one completely missing section above the leg. Various splits to legs, scuffs, marks, chips. General wear and tear throughout.
SIR THOMAS HERBERT BART "Some Years Travels into Africa and Asia The Great Especially Describing The Famous Empires of Persia and Industant As Also Diverse Other Kingdoms in The Orientall Indies and Iles Adjacent, The Third Edition Further Enlarged", published London 1677, cardboard bound CONDITION REPORTS The cover has no leather left and is just the cardboard, there is no spine, only the string binding. An examples of the condition include: Various pages are loose, there is foxing throughout, the edge are dog-eared, tatty, ripped, etc, page no. 117 is printed incorrectly ad reads 711, there is mould in various places and especially between 124 and 125. There are rips all over, and especially on page 350 which has a large rip, although can still be read clearly. There are 399 pages to the main text of the book, all present, and 17 un-numbered pages compiling the alphabetical table to the back. The very final page reads "Herbert Travels", the frontispiece, back pages, and other pages throughout, have hand written notes on them. Significant wear and tear throughout. There are signs of moth / worn damage to the back. Approx 31.5 x 17.5cm
A pair of black marble topped side tables with shaped top on a white painted carved wooden base in the Adam taste, with swag decoration, on square tapering and fluted and legs, 98 cm x 82 cm CONDITION REPORTS Date is 20th Century . First table - large crack running through top of the table, various cracks and repairs to the marble throughout, chips and losses to the edges, base rickety, joints becoming loose, various cracks throughout, generally shabby, wear and tear. Decorative moulding around the feet is missing. Second table has large break to the back left corner and back right corner, most of the pieces are present but there are some losses. Large repaired crack running through the top, base is cracked and generally shabby, various losses, splits, cracks etc. Various signs of wear and tear.
An early 19th Century mahogany D-end dining table, raised on three pedestal supports with splayed bases to brass caps and castors, 366 x 74cm CONDITION REPORTS One D end has a large split to the centre and various water stains. The other D end has been cut in two, also a large split to the centre and another to the end. All leaves have surface scratches and wear. One tripod leg has been broken and repaired. The middle quadruped base has one leg broken and repaired. The other tripod base also has one leg broken and repaired. All have knocks, bumps and bruises. The bolts appear to be replacements. General wear and tear.
A 19th Century coromandel and brass bound vanity case by Jenner and Knewstub, the lid opening to reveal a fitted interior comprising various silver mounted cut glass dressing table bottles (Brownett & Rose, London, 1860), each with engraved top initialled "NH", together with various other dressing table accoutrements to include thimble, scissors, button hook, measure, etc by Brookes & Crookes, together with various ivory handled mirrors and brushes, glove stretchers, shoe horns, etc, some inscribed Jenner & Knewstub, and a vanity mirror and a bottom drawer opening to reveal brass labels inside, one inscribed "Jenner & Knewstub Manufacturers to The Queen, 33 St. James's Street, London" and another inscribed "J Bramah 124 Piccadilly", housed in a leather carrying case initialled "HN" to top CONDITION REPORTS Case excluding cover - approx 26.3cm x 20.5cm x 37.5cm. Handles are very stiff, when open the mirror is difficult to remove and has come off its back board, although is present. Hand mirror has a disintegrating mirror plate, stained and marked. Dressing table bottles - there are three that should have stoppers, but one stopper is stuck, another is missing, and the other is severely chipped, these three bottles also have some chips to bases and fritting all over. The two cylindrical bottles are in similar condition. The other boxes have general wear. The dressing table items - one is broken, and another item is missing, one set of scissors has a small crack to handle. General wear to the gilding. Some rust marks to steel. One hairbrush handle is badly cracked and another brush handle is cracking at ends. There is some loss to the inking of the engraving initials. One shoe horn and brush do not match, and the additional glove stretchers are cracked and are not initialled. Some of the leather interior is ripped and one board is loose. Generally whole case is a bit stiff and has wear and tear, but generally in good condition. The brass inlay at the bottom of the secret drawer is coming away in both parts and rubbing along the top of the secret drawer. The outer cover has wear, especially to the edges and the leather straps are broken, there is a paper label on it, various creasing. The velvet is faded and marked to interior.

Evidence of old repairs to the top. Various splits to the top. Top surface is uneven. Various scratches, impressed marks, scuffs, etc throughout. Baluster legs have various missing sections, chips, splits, scuffs etc. Significant splits above and through one of the legs. Various splits all over. Various signs of wear and tear. Most legs with significant losses and splits.
AFTER GERARD DOU (1613-1675) "Gentleman seated at a table writing by candlelight, a marble statue before him", oil on panel, signed "Gerard Dou" to the base of the statue, bears label verso "Bought by John Long Westhill Sydenham at the Debussy Sale Southwold August 1890 Artist G Dou", 29 cm x 23 cm CONDITION REPORTS Horizontal crease type line running across the middle of the picture with some light dotted marks and some crazing. Nothing significant under UV light, frame - has cracks and missing pieces throughout and wear.
A William IV rosewood and brass mounted vanity case, the lid opening to reveal a vanity mirror, various cut glass and silver mounted dressing table bottles (Archibald Douglas, London, 1832), the brass locking mechanism bearing crown with VR, 20.5 cm x 26 cm CONDITION REPORTS Case has various splits to the wood, especially to the lid, and water stains and marks. The brass binding is very discoloured, pitted, signs of verdigris etc. The pins appear to be replacements are they are protruding. Appears to have had patched repairs. There are sections of brass binding missing from both longer edges on the base. The interior case is bruised and there are some losses to the veneer. Both long dressing table bottles are cracked. One of the larger glass bottles - the silver lid does not fit correctly. The squat rectangular glass bottle is chipped to one corner. The smaller taller glass bottle has chips and the silver lid is squashed. One silver inkwell appears to have a replacement lid and a replacement base and these are not hobnailed and not engraved to top. All glass has some fritting and chipping. The leather lining has scrapes, knocks and bumps where the bottles have been pulled in and out, some which are quite tight fitting. The velvet lid of the centre box appears not to fit precisely. The pen is additional. The mirror is cloudy and the protective pouch is stiff to remove from the clasp. There is also a rip to the velvet and several stitches. General wear and tear, scuffs, scratches.
An early Victorian mahogany rectangular extending dining table on three quadruped pedestals, with turned columns, the legs terminating in paw feet, with two leaves, 123 cm x 326 cm CONDITION REPORTS Three leaves are significantly different colours to the ends. Some deep scratches, scuffs, marks, scratches, dark marks, etc to top. One leaf with large crack right the way through. Some water damage and loss of varnish to the ends. General scuffs, marks, etc throughout. General wear and tear.
A late 19th Century Austro-Hungarian canteen of silver cutlery for twelve place settings, comprising table forks, table knives, table spoons, dessert spoons, dessert knives and forks, teaspoons, two serving spoons, two serving forks, a cake slice, soup ladle, four mustard spoons and four mustards, bearing Diana head hallmark for Vienna (post 1866) 160 troy oz, housed in a leather covered case, the interior inscribed "KVK Hof Juweller N.
