Sir Alfred Munnings (1878-1959)4 pencil sketchesThree men around a table, inscribed 'Still more studies, confirmation for the picture of the composing of the Marseillaise' and sketch book studies of horses6 x 4.5in. and 4.5 x 5.5in., 3 unframedCONDITION: Main sketch - paper a little discoloured with a slight central crease, tab marks at the top and some scattered fox marks, extensively inscribed verso by Grant Walters giving details of the work, according to Jenny Hard of the Munnings Museum this sketch looks to be a trial design for the cover of the third volume of Munnings' autobiography 'The Finish'.The 3 unframed sketches are all with discoloured paper with paint and other dirt stains upon them but otherwise fair.

A Regency brass strung rosewood games table, with sliding reversible chess board top enclosing a backgammon board, over two frieze drawers, on end standards with turned stretcher and ormolu scroll feet, fitted brass castors, W.3ft D.1ft 9in. H.2ft 5in.CONDITION: Overall in honest untouched condition, the rosewood top is a little faded with one or two old cracks running in from the sides, central reversible panel shows more scuffing and has a slight upwards bowing more noticeable when the chess board is upwards, internally of good rich colour, one frieze drawer fitted to each side of the table with what look to be the original handles, underframe in good order, one old split to an upper scroll.

A mid-18th century Irish carved walnut folding top card table, with scallop and scroll carved apron and acanthus carved legs on stylised lion's paw feet, W.2ft 9in. D.1ft 4in. H.2ft 5in.CONDITION: Made of very heavy old Cuban mahogany, the top has a light brown to reddish tone, is a little faded and shows old marks, stains and scuffs commensurate with use, the underframe is more of a mid to chocolate brown tone, carving is a little shallow and may well be later, otherwise good.

A George VI silver canteen of Salisbury? pattern cutlery for twelve by Mappin & Webb, comprising two hundred and nine items, including twenty four ivorine handled table knives, twelve dessert knives, six piece carving set and twelve pairs of mother of pearl handed dessert eaters, all with steel blades except for the dessert forks which have silver tines, the silver flatware hallmarked for Sheffield, 1937/38/39 & 40, and engraved with the letter H, weighable silver 232oz, housed in a free standing walnut two drawer canteen on cabriole legs with claw and ball feet, width 74.5cm.CONDITION: 12 silver fish knives and forks. 24 table forks, 12 dessert forks, 12 dessert spoons, 12 teaspoons, 12 grapefruit spoons, 12 soup spoons, 6 egg spoons, 4 serving spoons, sifter spoon, pair of fish servers, soup ladle, pair of sauce ladles, three small serving spoons, 12 coffee spoons and a pickle spoon and fork. The canteen is in generally fairly well used condition, with numerous nicks and scratches to the silver consistent with age, but the fork tines and spoons tips are in good order with little signs of wear. One mother of pearl handles of the dessert forks and knives is damaged and most of the rest of the handles have sprung slightly. All hallmarks clear.

H.1ft 5in.CONDITION: All six table leaves in slightly neglected condition, with varying degrees of wear and water staining to the tops, oxidisation to the legs but all will restore to good effect.

Two of the larger diamonds each have a small chip to the table facet. One of the smaller stones is chipped. Some minor surface scratches to the metal in general, consistent with some use.

A 19th century 18ct gold, foil backed garnet? and diamond set twin hearts ring, size M, gross 4.5 grams.CONDITION: The garnets are extremely worn. The largest stone has a small chip to the table and one of the smaller stones is chipped. Stone missing from top motif?? Shank possibly been resized.

A Regency brass mounted rosewood breakfast table, with rounded rectangular tilt top, brass stringing to the edges of the top and an ormolu frieze, on octagonal stem and saltire platform with ormolu lion's paw feet and concealed casket, W.4ft 6in. D.3ft 6in. H.2ft 6in.CONDITION: Top slightly faded with some of the brass stringing lifting away and one short section missing, a fine split running through the timbers over half way across from one end, brass stringing around the edge of the top coming away at one end, ormolu frieze good, underframe with minor wear commensurate with use but overall fair, gilt mounts to the base now a little rubbed and worn down to the base colour.

Thirty six items of 19th century Scottish King's pattern flatware, including twelve dessert spoons, Elder & Co Edinburgh, 1833, six dessert spoons, James & Walter Marshall, Edinburgh, 1848, six table spoons, William Marshall, Edinburgh, 1841, six table forks, James & William Marshall, Edinburgh, 1843, six dessert forks, Marshall & Sons, Edinburgh, 1837 and a pair of fiddle pattern table spoons, James McKay, Edinburgh, 1854, all with engraved initial, 65.5oz.CONDITION: All the fork tines and decoration on the handles of the forks have signs of wear, minor surface scratches also. All the spoons have surface scratches in general, commensurate with age and some use. Some wear to the decoration on the handles also. All hallmarks clear.

Lot 58

A French Art Deco bronzed spelter table lamp, modelled as a kneeling dancer holding aloft a spherical marbled glass globe, on black marble plinth, height 21in.CONDITION: Metal figure had a golden bronze patination in the main but much of this has now been rubbed down to a darker blackish ground metal colour, in addition there are some light surface scuffs and scrapes, the globe may well be the original, certainly fits well and does look a little dirty, plinth very dusty but otherwise good.

A late 19th/early 20th century French 18ct gold, sapphire and seed pearl set bar and circular link bracelet, (3 small sapphires missing), 19.5cm, gross 12.4 grams.CONDITION: Three of the small sapphire shave a tiny nick to the table facet. There are some tiny indentations the gold on the back of four of the circular links. Overall condition is otherwise good, commensurate with age and some use. No sign of any repairs.

Attributed A.W.N. Pugin, A Victorian oak Gothic revival writing table, with saltire inlaid top, castellated corners and blind fret carved frieze incorporating two drawers, on trestle end supports with Tudor rose carved feet, W.4ft 5.5in D.2ft 9.5in. H.2ft 6in.CONDITION: Overall rather worn with what was once a very dark oak colour now reduced in much of it bare timber, scuffs, wear and ring marks to the top commensurate with age, separation lines showing at each of the corners where they attach, drawers never had locks, underframes worn from use but overall honest condition.

Robert Thompson "Mouseman". An adzed oak centre table, with circular top and saltire underframe carved with a mouse, Diam.4ft 6in. H.2ft 4.5in.CONDITION: Overall of an even light golden to ginger tone with some light surface wear to the top, the top planks have separated and have warped and will require specialist attention, perhaps with leveling, by adzeing, then cleating? The underframe is rather dirty.

A Victorian gold and silver, turquoise, diamond and pearl set dragonfly brooch, with safety chain, width 58mm, length 42mm, gross 8.2 grams.CONDITION: Two of the turquoise have small blemishes and two of the small diamonds have a nick or a crack to the table facet. No sign of any repairs. Overall condition is otherwise good.

An ornate pierced 14ct gold, ruby and diamond set tapering bracelet, with central flower head motif, London import marks, 17.5cm, gross 60 grams.CONDITION: One of the rubies in the central cluster has a small chip to the table facet edge and one of the other outer rubies has a few nicks around the table facet edge, otherwise the bracelet is in good order, commensurate with age and some use.

A fine pair of Chinese famille rose plates, Yongzheng period, each painted with two ladies in a rockwork garden with precious objects on a table and the ground within gilt arabesque and turquoise diaper pattern borders, 22.5cm diameterCONDITION: Provenance - UK private collection, gifted to the vendor's late mother by her aunt before 1970.Very slight wear to the enamels in the well where probably plates have been stacked inside each other, one plate with a small missing patch of turquoise enamel tot he border, otherwise in good condition with no restoration chips or cracks, one of the plates has a slight glaze fault to the underside.

A 19th century Austrian 13 loth (.812 standard silver) service of fiddle and thread pattern flatware, in brass mounted fitted canteen, comprising eighteen table and eighteen teaspoons, eighteen table and eighteen dessert forks, a ladle and two serving/basting spoons, all with engraved initials, 129 oz.CONDITION: Four of the table spoons have dents to their bowls. Visible wear beginning to show of the table and dessert fork tines. Minor surface scratches to some in general, in line with age and some use. Austrian marks quite rubbed.

A 19th century French mahogany console table, with black granite top and two side slides, on ebonised caryatid capped squared columns, understage and block feet, W.4ft 10in. D.1ft 11.5in. H.3ft 5in.CONDITION: Honest untouched condition and requiring some restoration, the granite top has old surface scratches and splash marks but may be the original, moulding is missing from the left side, the right side moulding conceals a pull out slide that is lined with black fabric and now a little tatty, the left side has lost the front moulding section, the slide is hidden within, minor dents and scuffs commensurate with age to the underframe, caryatid capitols are worn with much of the ebonising rubbed away from the outer sides of the wings, equally the ebonised feet of the front pillars are rubbed and chipped, understage has a split running from left to right and scuffing from use, block feet again worn from use.
