HRH Charles, Prince of Wales, autograph letter, signed, in bold black ink on headed paper (Palace of Holyroodhouse), 8 July 1981, 'Dear Marjorie, Thank you so much for your letter. I am so touched that there was such a nice reaction to your wedding invitation. I couldn't be more delighted that it has given so many people such pleasure. Don't forget to go to the 'loo before the wedding - it could be a very long wait in the cathedral! With my love, Charles', complete with original envelope addressed to Marjorie Dawson, postmarked Buckingham Palace, 10 July 1981. 2. HRH Charles, Prince of Wales, typed letter, signed, headed paper (Buckingham Palace), 16 March 1981, 'I was enormously touched by your very kind letter and both of us send our warmest thanks. It was very good of you to write as you did.' Dedicated in black ink, 'Dear Marjorie...With loving gratitude, Charles', complete with original envelope, postmarked Buckingham Palace, 17 March 1981. 3. Wedding invitation, addressed in black ink to Miss Marjorie Dawson, heavy white card with gilt edge and gilt royal cypher, complete with envelope, stamped 'Lord Chamberlain, St. James's Palace'. 4. Entrance card granting admittance for Miss Marjorie Dawson, together with three sheets of instructions/details for the event on headed paper (Lord Chamberlain's Office), complete with envelope. 5. Printed copy of a letter from HRH Charles, Prince of Wales, conveying thanks to household staff for wedding present (a George III mahogany pembroke table), with envelope. 6. Two volumes in full contemporary calf with contrasting red & black morocco title labels lettered in gilt (titled 'Vol III' and 'Vol IV'); marbled endpapers; armorial bookplate on front pastedown of each volume (Frederick Edward Morrice); engraved frontispiece portrait of Milton, plus two engraved plates in first volume and three in the second; text complete with preface, table of contents, index, Samson Agonistes. Contents good, clean, bright; bindings with some discolouration/marks; wear/loss to calf at corners and headcaps; some cracking/wear to spines, splitting to joints; upper board of second volume becoming loose but not yet detached (2)
