A Fine Oil on Panel: Kitchen Interior depicting a kitchen maid cleaning fish at a table laden in a basket of quinces & grapes, a string of onions, vegetables, a duck & sheep's head, with a bucket of water in the foreground, and salted meats, skimmer, candlestick and pot in background. Beside her is standing a young man swigging from a flagon. Possible remains of signature and date left of the maid's head. 35½ ins x 49 ins (90 cms x 125 cms) set in a moulded gilt frame with scrolling acanthus ornamentation 47½ ins x 60½ ins (121 cms x 154 cms). Other examples of De Rijck's work; all kitchen scenes are to be found in The Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam, Haarlem, Museum of Fine Arts in Ghent Belgium, Brunswick and Munster in Germany.

The scrolling triple arched apron embellished with small turned pendant finials below tulip head inlay and edged in fine cock-beading. Standing on ball knopped tapering legs with astrigal ring turnings, united by a shaped X-form over-lapped plank stretcher with finialed centre point and terminating on bun feet. 28½ ins (72 cms) high, 30¼ ins (77 cms) wide, 20 ins (51 cms) deep.

The back richly carved in the Renaissance style with a scrolling cartouche to the centre bearing the initials BWE surmounted by a female face mask and flanked by fruiting vines & a pair of gryphons above scrolling sea serpents. The back carved with a Gothic church in a tabernacle arch. The planked seat hinged at the front and folding over to form a table/stool with the back forming the support.
