A painted mahogany veneered demi lune side table, raised on tapered legs of square section. Height 79 cm, width 96 cm, depth 49 cm. CONDITION REPORT: This is a 20th century table which has been apparently slightly distressed to imitate areas of veneer cracking and damage. The table is in a good order with no major defects to mention.
An Edwardian mahogany serpentine fronted serving table, boxwood strung and fitted with three frieze drawers and raised on turned tapered fluted legs. Height 86 cm, width 145 cm, depth 68.5 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The serving table is structurally sound and in generally good condition. The top is a uniform colour with no splits. There are some surface scratches particularly on the right-hand side, these are however generally not particularly deep. There are some scuffs around the rounded corners. The frieze is in generally good condition all round with only very minor veneer nibbles. The drawer fronts are all in generally good condition. There is a scratch to the right-hand drawer around the handle area. The right-hand centre drawer handle requires a small repair. The moulding beneath the drawers has a small section of crossbanding missing. The sides of the table are in generally good order, as are all of the legs. There is no evidence of any repairs or restoration. The tips of the legs have minor marks caused by vacuum cleaners etc.
An Art Deco brass topped circular occasional table, with fluted pine legs and raised on metal ball feet. Height 61 cm, diameter 45 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The table is structurally sound. The brass top has lost much of its original gilt paintwork (+/- 50%). This is particularly visible around the edges. The legs are all a little scuffed and marked. There are replacement blocks between the legs and the top for strengthening purposes. The ball feet are tarnished and rusty.
A Victorian inlaid walnut oval centre table, raised on turned end supports with centre stretcher and with cabriole legs terminating in castors. Height 70 cm, width 102 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The table is structurally sound with no loose joints. The top is flat with no warping. The colour is generally good. There are some old veneer repairs and slight rippling of the veneers as well as some small losses. The moulded edge is in good condition all round. The frieze has some old veneer repairs and veneer nibbles. The supports and legs are all original and in generally good order although very dirty within the carved areas. The castors are original.
A mahogany Regency style pedestal worktable, twin drop flap with turned columns and three downswept legs terminating in spade feet. Height 73 cm, width folded 26 cm, depth 30 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The width with the flaps up is 60 cm. The width of the legs at the widest point at ground level is 42.3 cm. The table probably dates from the first quarter of the 20th century. The polish would confirm this. It is generally in good condition and could be used in its current state without the need for any work. There are some minor scuffs and scratches to the legs but no evidence of any repairs or restoration.
An antique Chinese hardwood low table, with pierced frieze and moulded legs with scroll feet. Height 61 cm, width 121 cm, depth 56.5 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: This table has loss to the frieze at one end and is slightly loose to the joints. There is some water straining and marks to the top.
A Victorian mahogany twin drop flap worktable, with two frieze drawers, turned and carved column with quatreform base and bun feet. Height 73 cm, width 48.5 cm, depth 47 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The table is structurally sound. The top is a good colour with decent veneers. The right hand side flap has minor liquid damage and one small veneer loss. The left hand flap is in good order. The flaps are not warped. The drawer fronts are in good order, the handles are original. All handles are present. The centre column is in good condition. The quatreform base has veneer nibbles to the edges of the top section and there are some stress fractures to the veneers on the sides of the base. The feet are all original as are the castors.
A late 19th century oak centre table, the frieze carved with lions head and gadrooned ornament on turned legs and with curved stretchers. 78 cm high, 120 cm long, 83 cm wide. The top inset with engraved copper plaque worded "This table was originally 1914 in the library of "The Monastery" Ypres. It was there used by successive British Generals until after the Second Battle of Ypres when as enemy shell fire was rapidly demolishing all buildings it was moved to a "dug out" in a cellar and used by Canadian troops. It was removed from this "dug out" in August 1916 when the Canadians left Ypres to take part in the Battle of The Somme".
A large oak extending dining table with four leaves, the top with moulded edge and rounded corners and with recessed frieze and raised on carved and turned legs terminating in brass castors. Height 76 cm, width 122 cm, length excluding leaves 244 cm. Each leaf adding a further 60 cm (see illustration).
An early 19th century mahogany side table, with rounded corners and single drawer with wooden knob handles raised on turned tapered legs. Height 71 cm, width 67 cm, depth 52 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The table is structurally sound. The top is in generally good condition. It is flat with no splits but does have some old ring liquid marks and old surface scratches. The frieze drawer has some liquid marks but all cockbeading is present. Both knob handles have losses. Above the lock there is a loss on the main carcass corresponding with the lock keeper. The legs do not have any repairs and there is no significant damage. The side panels are in good order as is the rear. There is no evidence of any woodworm.
A Victorian mahogany writing table, the top with lifting back edge to enclose a now missing pen tidy, fitted single drawer under on turned legs. 78 cm high, 66 wide, 39 cm deep. CONDITION REPORT: The top has several old ring and ink marks. There are however no splits or losses. The drawer runs smoothly. There are veneer losses to the drawer front which should be visible on our images. All legs are in good order and the piece is structurally sound with no evidence of woodworm.
